I’ve been in Oakland for weeks, exploring all the local halal eateries, and nothing compares to the incredible flavors at Biryani Tika Kabab (برياني تكا كباب حلال) on 14th Street. If you’re craving genuinely authentic Pakistani cuisine, look no further—this place is an absolute gem! First off, the food here is outstanding. I ordered the biryani and chicken makhni, requesting a spicy kick, and both dishes exceeded my expectations. The biryani was perfectly cooked, aromatic, and flavorful, each bite delivering an authentic taste that immediately reminded me of home. The chicken makhni was beautifully spiced, rich, and creamy, with just the right amount of heat. Every dish felt freshly prepared, bursting with authentic spices, and balanced perfectly in terms of flavor and texture. Beyond the food, what truly made the experience special was the warm welcome and friendly atmosphere. The host, currently preparing for the USMLE, was incredibly personable and attentive, ensuring we were comfortable and satisfied throughout our meal. The place itself is impressively clean, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience. Having tried numerous halal restaurants around town during my stay, I confidently say that nothing else matches the quality and taste found here. The authenticity is evident from the first bite, reflecting genuine Pakistani culinary traditions. Whether you’re a local resident or just passing through, Biryani Tika Kabab is a must-visit. It stands out not only for its superb taste but also for its hospitality and cleanliness. This is unquestionably my top recommendation in Oakland for anyone seeking delicious, halal Pakistani food. Trust me—you’ll leave delighted and eager to return!

Called and Mr Adnan and Afzal they took the order over the phone ask to add little cilantro and they took care of it . Biryani Tika Kabab , incorporating elements of a great biryani experience: Aromatic Excellence: Kabob and Biryani's Chicken Biryani Stepping into Kabob and Biryani, the intoxicating aroma of spices is the first promise of a culinary journey, and their Chicken Biryani delivers on that promise beautifully. This isn't just a dish; it's an experience. The basmati rice, the backbone of any good biryani, is cooked to perfection – each grain separate, fluffy, and infused with the subtle golden hue of saffron and rich spices. It's evident they take pride in the quality of their rice. But what truly elevates this biryani is the chicken. Tender, succulent pieces of chicken are generously layered within the rice, having absorbed the complex flavors of the masala. The meat isn't dry or stringy, but rather falls apart with ease, indicating a slow, careful cooking process. The spice level is wonderfully balanced; it has a comforting warmth that lingers on the palate without overwhelming the delicate nuances of the other ingredients. You can taste the freshness of the herbs and the depth of the aromatic spices. Served with a cooling raita on the side, it's the perfect accompaniment to cut through the richness and add a refreshing contrast. The portion size is also quite generous, making it a satisfying meal. Whether you're a biryani connoisseur or simply looking for a truly flavorful and authentic Pakistani dish, Kabob and Biryani's Chicken Biryani is a must-try. It's a testament to the art of biryani making, leaving you with a desire to return for more.

4.5 stars. Excellent food, owner takes a little time warming up to you. We came here on a federal holiday evening so parking was quite easy to get (street parking only). Got seated immediately. This is our first time and we were visiting from out of the bay, so we asked what he recommended and he curtly said, "read the menu!" We ended up ordering the goat and the chicken biryanis and the prawn karahi with a garlic naan and some tea to end the meal with. They were nice enough to tell us that the food will take time. Turns out that preparation really helps as we were pleasantly surprised when the food came out quicker than anticipated. The biryanis were excellent! Good spice level, separated and colorful rice, well-cooked chicken and goat meat. Both biryanis had a homemade effect to them, which I absolutely adored!! The prawn karahi was more oily than I appreciate but the flavor and spice level was excellent! I would still recommend doing chicken or goat/lamb for the karahi, the prawns don't exactly fit with the karahi concept. With the garlic naan, the karahi was super yummy! The tea was ok but I like a certain kind of tea, which pretty much no one except my mother and I make, so I wasn't surprised. Quantities were decent. Definitely lasting the two of us for two meals. All in all, I was very happy with the food with the exception of the oil in the karahi. The owner did warm up to us through the course of our meal and we left on really good terms. Will definitely recommend them to whoever goes to Oakland.

I ordered the chicken tikka masala each for $13.99 and [only got six small pieces of chicken] in an oily salty sauce and a small container of oily rice for $3.99. The guy who took my order was taking his sweet time acting like he was cleaning before he came to help me when I was the only person in the restaurant except for the one family who was already seated and eating. I’m waiting for my food and I hear a bell chime coming from the back. The guy isn’t paying attention, he’s more busy talking to people who already have their food. Five or so minutes go by and the bell chimes again but he still isn’t paying attention. I pull out my phone and set a timer, after five more minutes I stand up by the door and that’s when he notices me and tells me my food is coming. He takes his time taking another person’s order before he takes his time to walk to the back to get my food and then takes his time to walk over to me so I walk up and meet him half way to take my food and he pulls it away to slowly walk to grab a stapler and insists on stapling it before he slowly hands me my food. I live just up the street and when I opened to eat my food literally five minutes later my food was already cold/lukewarm. The food was so greasy and salty that my stomach is a bit upset. Despite the lackadaisical service the taste was still pretty good but I don’t think I wanna come back often to pay $20 for greasy, cold, and small portions. 😢

After a long day, we were quite hungry and longing for something Desi, spicy and biryani!!! We stumbled upon this place in a weird neighborhood of Oakland area and from outside we were not sure especially when it was so empty. Nevertheless we thought of giving it a try. The host was super nice and told us to sit wherever we felt comfortable. The interior was very cosy, clean and well kept. Felt good to be inside inspire of being the only ones inside. Still, he said the kitchen was functioning no matter what. We ordered the prawns karahi, goat biryani and garlic naan. He said their house speciality tea was freshly made throughout and was complimentary with the meal but would be taking sometime to be ready. Honestly that didn’t matter to us! The food arrived freshly made and piping hot. The prawn was soooooo juicy and filled with yumilicious. I am very peculiar about goat meat texture and I must say the goat in the biryani was not only juicy and flavored but also flaky and delicious. The garlic naan had a very comforting taste. All in all I was super happy with the food, service and the food was worth the price range. I would recommend coming here and not being judged by the outside appearance. The host is super nice and helpful and I would encourage to share the love too.. Enjoy your meal and experience!!!

The man at the front was extremely rude. He seemed agitated from the moment I started asking questions about the ingredients of the meals to be considerate of my allergies (wheat & dairy). He insisted that I was wasting his time - suggesting that I couldn’t afford the food because I needed to split my payment between multiple cards due to a company card cap on daily spending. He further asserted on three occasions that I was not a respectable customer if I would not sit down next to a man coughing without a mask on, while I was waiting for my food. In the end, I waited 30 minutes for a simple fish vindaloo and basmati rice and I felt extremely uncomfortable throughout the experience as a paying customer. The food itself tasted decent for $20 but the experience is dulled by the rude service. The owners of this establishment also had a very young and sweet child that ran around invading everyone’s space. Other customers complained and asked the owners to intervene but the behavior continued.
