The food also looks great which I have yet to try but one day may grab a pastry. Highly recommend the burnt cinnamon latte or iced blackstrap latte. Delish!!

Oakland has an amazing coffee scene and modern coffee is definitely one of the best. It is located across from federal hall and they have the best Cardomom Chai ever. Even though Starbucks was around the corner, is definitely come here again. Free wifi and power outlets available but seating is limited.

Modern Coffee third location is located across from federal building and post office on Clay St in downtown Oakland. This location is also smaller than the other two with a few tables inside and two tables on sidewalk. Worker are outgoing no matter what's thrown them. Nothing different here just same as usual with TCHO, Awesome Bar, Chromatic Coffee etc. Good for quick bite during your commute or midday break. Open M-F from...

Great chai. 2 flavors that are each stellar. I get a 50/50 blend because i like both so much and can't choose. Go early as pastries run out early. This means they are always fresh.... no day old muffins..... bring your own cup please.

5 star rating if there were seating options for morning visits. Always packed with meetings...
