All I wanted was a decent smash burger. 3 of us arrived at 5:45, prior to the end of Happy Hour. We explained to the host station that we had 4 more people coming. They gave us regular menus and a menu for Happy Hour, which ended at 6. It had reduced prices for several food items. We ordered from it. I called the rest of our party, who said they had just pulled in but were looking for a parking space. This pub is at the end of a very busy shopping plaza. This was around 5:52. They walked into pub at 5:56, headed straight to the host desk and said they were with us. (We had asked to be seated at adjoining booths so we weren't all crowded in.) They were not given Happy Hour menus so my husband went to the host stand and asked for one of them. That was at 5:58. The server then took their drink order at 5:59 and abruptly left the table. When she came back with their sodas, they asked about ordering the food on the Happy Hour menu. It was now 6:02 and she told them they couldn't order from it because it ended. They explained they came in prior to it ending and she said, "Yeah, at 5:58. That's why they didn't even give you that menu." They knew what they wanted and could have ordered while she was there taking the drink order. This may seem petty but the actual price differences for each item was substantial. A smash burger on the HH menu was $12. On the regular menu, it's $17.50. Wings on the HH were $10. On the regular menu they're $16. In addition, there multiple add-on charges for everything from fries to a different cheese to hot peppers, etc. Now let's talk about the food. The reviews paint the food as really good and far above average when honestly, it's just average. The "smash burger" is far from one. It's 2 regular patties slightly flattened. They don't have a char, the edges were not crisp, and they were somewhat dry and flavorless. The crab & shrimp bisque was decent but it didn't blow my socks off. The onion rings were just so so. I could have gotten better at Red Robin. The salad was fresh and the wings were actually pretty good with a nice crisp underneath the sauce. Atmosphere: I know it's a bar & grill but the music was so loud, we had to lean into each other to talk. I know this place is super busy and they don't care if we ever come back but needless to say, we will definitely find another spot for smash...
Read moreOn our 1st night in town, we walked to this restaurant. The entrance is a bit off to the side when you come on from the parking lot. Seating was immediately available. The waitress was young and new. Her knowledge of the menu was lacking. The smash burgers were good. The horseradish sauce they put on them was different. They forgot to put it on the burgers so had to ask for a side of it to try. The flatbread pizza was a hit with our daughter. The Mike Tyson Chicken was spicy as all get out. There was only a starch (mashed) and veggie of the day (green beans). The iced tea was completely out. The hot crab dip was very salty on top but not bad. Overall for 3 adults and 1 child it was $120. We had soft drinks, 2 burgers, a flatbread and grilled chicken. We wouldn't run back. A so so meal. Live...
Read moreI feel like the name of this is a play on words ie. “Fast” is nowhere in the scenario there. Went to the bar and there were at least 10 open seats. That said, not one space in front of those seats was wiped or cleaned. We seated ourselves and with at least 4 people behind the bar (including an older white guy that I assume is a manager or owner) we waited 5 minutes for anyone at all to acknowledge us. They weren’t even busy!!!! No person even said “Hi”… I walked over to the older guy behind the bar to try to get served but apparently he was too interested in getting a server (still in uniform) “a shot of fireball”….. This shot was clearly not a shot for a guest! We then decided to leave. Go to Ponzettis or Beach Barrels if you want good service, this place is a huge...
