We were staying close by and tried Mione’s for convenience. We thought of Mione’s like fast food Italian (Sbarro’s or Ledo’s - not a fine dining restaurant). We were right about this. We were surprised by the quality and quantity of what we got. The food was priced right; about the same as fast food Italian at home. I expected it to be higher since it was in Ocean City. I think the mainland location may be the reason for this. Our pasta dishes were very good and generous portions for fast food. The pasta had a good garlic flavor without the sauce and the sauce made it even better. I like eggplant parmesan and it was better than I have had for awhile. My wife had baked ziti and commented that it had good flavor. She eats pasta all the time (even at fine Italian restaurants - she really notices the texture and flavor of the pasta) and doesn’t say anything unless it stands out. We ordered two appetizers because fast food places often give scant portions. We didn’t need them! We didn’t get pizza, so I can’t say anything about them. The bread was not sliced and had no flavor. This is something that could be improved by slicing it lengthwise and brushing it with garlic oil. I was surprised we got salads with our pastas. They were typical fast food Italian salads (sliced black olives sprinkled on) with the dressing packet of our choice. The appetizers were typical of fast food Italian, mozzarella sticks, onion rings and various versions of french fries. I think they could easily step them up a notch by offering bruschetta or bread with a different topping (caprese, pesto or antipasto). (French fries are everywhere in Ocean City.) Overall, if you’re looking for fine, sit in dining Italain food, you’ll be disappointed. If you’re looking for fairly priced fast food Italian that is a step above other take out establishments with some tabes and chairs, I think you will be...
Read moreWe were visiting Ocean City during spring break and "shopped" reviews of pizza places in OC. We landed on Miones based on the rating and reviews. We ordered online at 5:38 PM on a Monday. The email I received said it would be ready at 6:08 PM. I showed up at 6:05 PM. I checked in with the cashier who told me that they were still working on my order. She pointed to the oven, where I saw a box with my name on it, with a pizza (I ordered two pizzas). At 6:30 PM, I once again asked if my order was ready, and was told that my second pizza was still in the oven. I was not offered an apology, just told that it would be longer. The ONE GUY making pizzas was clearly drowning and definitely working hard, and the place was busy, but just let me know if you forgot to make my pizza, maybe offer me a soda or something while I'm sitting there for an hour waiting on my two pizzas for almost $50. And while the pizza was OK at best, it was certainly not worth waiting an hour for. Perhaps if my first pizza had not been sitting on the oven for half an hour waiting on the second, I would have a different opinion. Everybody gets busy, everybody gets in the weeds, people are short staffed, but the least you can do is acknowledge when people are waiting that long to eat at your...
Read moreWe ordered food to eat in and a sandwich to go. Waited for 30 minutes , watching people Who came in after us get their meal and finish it and leave while we’re still waiting to get our meals. We asked the staff where our meal was and they said it’ll be up shortly. We sat there for an hour. They finally found it. It was all packaged up as a to go order and had been on their shelf and ready for a takeout order. I went up and told them this was to eat in after requesting three times to please make me an Italian hoagie I would like to eat it at the table. She finally understood and five minutes before closing we got served. then my son‘s pizza was completely burned, my hoagie tasted terrible. The people next to us had burned onion rings. The customer went up and told them you would not eat these. Why would you give these to me. We have been coming to Ocean City for years. We stop on the way in because I loved Miones hoagies And we stop on the way to go home. After this experience, we will never stop at...
