***UPDATE 2024*** Tuesday Night Dinner We came back to Lombardi's to give it another shot while down in OCMD. The pizza was better and I got the spaghetti with meatballs. The star of the night was the Crab Soup (tomato based). The bowl was huge and the soup had so much flavor and ingredients. Way better than the other restaurants where I got soup. Much better experience tonight than the 1st night we were here. Still busy for a mid week dinner. Moving my food stars up to 4. Service and atmosphere 5 stars still. Overall rating keeping at a 4 for now. Saturday Night Dinner My food rating has dropped to 3 stars and the overall rating dropped to 4 stars. The food was not the same this year. The pizza was a little thick and cheesy but not in a good way. Also I get the Frutti Di Mare every time I'm here and this year they gave me a bowl for the shells like always and there were maybe 7 clams that were in the dish. If you look at my pictures before they had a crab claw and mussels and clams. Nothing but clams this year. Not sure of they just added mussels without the shell but that doesn't seem like fresh seafood to me. I know they have them but they weren't in the dish. Disappointed to say the least. The place was packed too on a Saturday night like usual but they can't charge more and give less. ***UPDATE 2023*** Just the same as it always is. Great pizza and great service. We always get a pepperoni Pizza and I always get the Frutti Di Mare. ***UPDATE 2021*** Open and just as great as always. Looks like new menus were printed from last time I was here but still the same offerings. Cold beer on tap with frosted glasses a must. Fantastic end to our vacation is dinner at Lombardi's. Original Review Whenever I am in Ocean City Maryland I must have a dinner or two at Trattoria Lombardi's. The pizza is always just how you like it with quality ingredients. The restaurant is very old school feeling with wooden built in booths and a long wooden bar. Tables and chairs are also available. The decor also has lots and lots of stained glass fixtures throughout. There is always a fast paced staff waiting to serve you and the food comes out fast and hot when ready so be prepared to eat when it comes out. The owner is always there trying to make your experience that much better with anything you want including casual conversations. You can tell he really cares about your experience in his restaurant. This week as I am writing this review we had take out pizza and dine-in a few days apart. The dine-in is always preferred as we had a delicious Pepperoni Pizza and an order of Frutti di Mare. Everything was fantastic including the beer from a glass pitcher and chilled glasses. Try the pizza and you will come back for more.

We went to try the pizza. We waited outside and spoke to two older couples as they left who spoke very highly of the pizza and pasta. The conversations on Facebook spoke highly of Lombardi's. My initial impression was dark interior and loud. Variety of Tiffany lamps ( see dark decor and Tiffany lamp photo) The kitchen is open into the dining room. There was music playing but you couldn't make out a song . It just added to noise. Because of noise, we had difficulty hearing the server, in addition to the required mask. However... We ordered the Supreme pizza. They do not use a brick oven. I would call this Jersey type pizza. The crusty was homemade, light, crispy golden bottom with very good flavor ( see photo of top and off golden brown bottom ) The sauce and toppings were excellent. Food came out quickly. Server was attentive. If you order pasta it comes out with pasta on a plate and a gravy boat of sauce so you can pour your own. The owner makes his rounds regularly around the tables. We told him it was our first time. He asked if we tried his sauce and he ordered up a gravy boat and some fresh bread for us to try his sauce. Sauce was very good as well as the fresh bread. Forget Tony's, Grottos, Soprano's, etc. Go to Lombardi on 94th ! Eat it fresh on at the restaurant because it comes out piping hot. We will go back for each visit here in OC.

$60.67... for what exactly? A bite and a prayer? Look, I didn’t expect a five-course Italian feast, but I also didn’t expect to spend over $60 on what looked and tasted like a microwaveable Italian sampler from a gas station. Let’s break it down - One lonely chicken breast drowning in red sauce, sitting on top of some shy spaghetti. Alfredo pasta with a sauce that had the consistency of spackle and the taste of… well, still trying to figure that out. A side of "mozzarella sticks" (I think?) that felt like chewing on deep-fried yoga mats with a pinch of salt. Six sticks total and 2inches in length, despicable tbh. And the bread? Three small slices. I’ve seen communion servings more generous than this. It was free though…they shouldn’t have. Literally could have gone to bluefish or liquid assets and gotten a full course meal with 2 diet cokes, tipped 20% on the bill and would’ve had left overs for the next day and enough money remaining to get a dessert and a lotto ticket. The whole meal had the personality of a soggy napkin tbh. For $60.67, I expected flavor, maybe even joy. Instead, I got regret, heartburn, and 5lbs extra pounds. I’d go back for the pizza tho. The only good thing about it was that it was still hot and didn’t have to wait long. Thanks for reading. Respect to all the workers.

I went here tonight with my girlfriend. We are both 19 and visiting ocean city for her dance nationals down the street. We were greeted pleasantly and promptly seated. Our waitress was quick to come to us and take our order. Within 5 minutes of taking our dinner order (that is being lenient) the food was out. My order of the chicken Alfredo was definitely on the expensive side of things for the proportion I received. The chicken was insanely dry and the pasta barely covered the bottom of the dinner plate. They claim their Alfredo sauce is made daily and it was good. Nothing special especially with the quality of the chicken and the quantity of past included in the plate for the price listed. My girlfriends entree, the Italian sausage pasta was fine. The sausage was cooked different than how I would ever consider doing, seemed to be boiled or something because the casing had no crunch or bite to it whatsoever. I am no pro cook but I know how to follow directions and put a dinner on a plate that people would love to eat. This restaurant was a disappointment in the quality of food which it served especially seeing as it is one of the highest rated Italian places in the close area. I am not sure if we both just received dishes that were prepared poorly or this is the regular prep for these meals. If that is the case, this restaurant deserves the one star for providing very low quality food and proportions to the price at which you charge for them. Yes ocean city is a big tourist destination and beautiful and you should be serving the best there is to be for the prices you have them at. Best of luck to you, I will not be returning. There is a great atmosphere and seating and staff is fine but food just sucked for my visit…

Ps. If not stated previously I am also significantly basing this review off of 3+ years of restaurant work as a host throughout high school so my standards will be high but also lenient as I am aware that s* happens daily at restaurants. My standard is high but also comes from a solid level of experience of “proper” customer and food service. This experience clearly isn’t that of most and details told from my perspective, 19 yr old male from Massachusetts. I would never come back to a restaurant serving me the food this did for the prices at which they were at. That is all. This is my first review and I have been out to eat a good amount and definitely have opinions of the places at which I eat but this is the first to make me want to write such a review….unfortunate as I don’t like tearing anyone or anything down but felt the need to share...

Hubby and I heard great things about this place and decided to give it a try this past weekend during bike week. We walk in to 2 hostesses upfront. I say hello, 2 please and one of the hostesses looked me up and down with an unwelcoming face.I thought, did I just imagine that? She proceeds to sit us down and hubby says it’s our first time here, we heard the food is great. She smiled. The waitress comes over and we place our order “supreme pizza”. Pizza comes out. She may have just been playing frisby with that pizza tray. Practically threw the tray on the table and says here! Now I know I didn’t imagine that! Hubby asks for the manager/owner who comes to the table. He proceeds To tell the manager what we just experience and the manager says she is his best waitress who’s been with them for over 15 years and she may be having a bad day or having issues with her kids, but it’s not acceptable. I tried to get a word in to reiterate, this was our first time there, but the manager Spoke over me and asked me not to be mad at him. Not sure if he really understood how his employee made us feel. Not once did our waitress come to ask us if we were ok or if we needed anything. The table beside us also ordered a pizza and when she brought that pizza out to them, she said here you go, here’s your pizza, enjoy making us feel even worse. I was curious to know the name of our waitress. Waited for the check to see and learned her name was Pravda. The hostess and our waitress made our experience there a less than desirable one although I have to say the pizza was amazing! Despite the great pizza, we will never go back because of this experience. Hope no one ever has this experience! Not cool! Not acceptable! By the way, I wasn’t imagining things, my husband saw the same...
