Visited Kane Brewing on our way out of town yesterday. Was immediately greeted by a beertender in the "original" taproom, and tasted a lager that was absolutely out of this world! My boyfriend and I continued into the larger taproom and each ordered a flight. I will be reviewing mine, not his. I should also add that I do work at a brewery as a beertender, so I do have some knowledge about beer and stuff. Hopefully this review does more than just stating the good's and the bad's.
My flight was good, but nothing was as good as that first lager I tasted. I had a double IPA, a different lager, a wit, and the apricot IPA on lactose. All of which were good, but the first lager knocked those all out of the running. I will add that I drank them fairly quick, in order to catch the 3 o'clock tour, that we were told would be happening by both the giant painting on the wall, and the first beertender. However, the tour never happened. We waited for about 20 minutes with no one hosting a tour. Yes, we could have asked another employee about the tour, but the lines for orders were getting long, and we were not that upset (hence the 4 star rating).
My boyfriend and I both bought apparel and talked to another employee before leaving. Nice team, good beer, and free stickers. We would definitely come back, especially to take the eagerly...

Read moreAs great as NJ beers gets! I am so glad that Kane is an NJ brewery, a spot that I can get to, beers available at my local packaged good retailers and restaurants. I remember my first Kane, Head High, that I had at Porta in Asbury. I thought then, another and great reason, to go to Porta! And, I made sure to get there more, so that I could enjoy more Kane. And, when I saw Kane available at Tiff's in Union, a few minutes from home, I became more of a regular at Tiff's!
I like that they have expanded their retail footprint in the past couple of years, that more local liquor stores have can in stock!
But, I also like getting to the brewery to pick up some beers that don't make it to the liquor stores, at least not North. There is always a different variety at the brewery store and always a surprise beer on that list that is different in style but still high quality and a treat like the rest of the Kane beers.
So, hat's off and thanks to Kane for continuing to put out top...
