Dutch Bros Coffee — Restaurant in Oceanside

Dear Dutch bros, if I could give you guys 1 million stars I would. seriously, I love you guys sooo much! Thank you for coming to Oceanside and making all of our coffee dreams come true. I visit this location regularly and let me tell you — ALL of the baristas here go above & beyond to make everyone’s day super special-even if it’s 5am, that sort of kindness is super rare to find these days and I mean it when I say thank you guys for the great customer service ❤️❤️❤️ And they also make the BEST COFFEE, their work is phenomenal!!!! I’ve tried almost every different coffee drink on the menu and I have to say I am Impressed every single time. They had a pumpkin Carmel brûlée cold Brew and it was my absolute fave, I would sometimes even get 2 LoL yup it was THAT good. The sweater weather chai is so perfect for the holiday season and don’t even get me started on their new “Sugar n Spice Oatmilk Latte” 😩😩😩 …it is hands down the GOAT OF COFFEES!! I wish I could review their other drinks because I’m sure they’re FIREEE, but I’m a coffee girl. Oh wait, just one more thing..the mufffin tops are sooooo good omg especially orange cranberry, it’s filled with so many delicious &juicy cranberries. Thanks again Dutch bros, I am a fan 4 lyyyffee!!!! ❤️ I would like to add an additional side note for those who may be concerned for their safety: YOU ARE FINE!!! TRUST ME. I assure you that this is not a “high crime area” I was born & raised here in south Oceanside and can assure you this is a great area and a peaceful community. So what, if you may see some homeless people? That’s life and life happens bro, can’t we all just live and let live? That is all...

I first noticed Dutch Bros driving up the 5 on our way to Disneyland and saw there was a long line in what appeared to be a drive through. Unlike most people I hadn’t really heard of them so I decided to look them up. I am always looking for something new and different to try and was excited to see they had a wide variety of coffees and teas. My daughter and I stopped on our way back from Disneyland and hit up the drive through. Even at 9PM the line was fairly long (both people waiting at the window and in the drive-thru) but the line moved fairly quickly.

Everyone was really nice and took the time to ask how we were and if we had ever been before and asked what we like and offered suggestions based on that. Since we are kicking off the holidays we had to try out some of the holiday drinks. I got the hot Hazelnut Truffle Mocha, it was really good. The chocolate was light with a touch of caramel and hazelnut. I also brought home the Candy Cane Cold Brew. It may be better if I drank it right away. I did like the crushed candy cane atop the foam but as for the coffee itself, I would have liked a stronger taste of peppermint (that is just me though). My daughter got a tea with lemonade and she enjoyed it.

The Oceanside location is great, right off the freeway and is good when we are traveling to and from. I am hoping they expand further down the freeway and a little closer to home for us. It is a little bit of a drive for us to just go up for a coffee and would love closer so we can go more often. 5 stars for the drinks and the friendliness and helpfulness of the employees. One star for the ridiculous wait to pick up your drink. It's great for them that it is so popular but the line is really long most of the time that I have been there which is late morning, mid afternoon or early evening. This particular location is 20 mi from my house so this is where I stop when I'm on my way up to the OC.

I have sought out other locations now because the wait is typically 20 minutes. On a good day it's 10-15 minutes to get through the line. I have found that it's faster to drive to another location that it is to deal with the line at this location.

I'm not sure exactly how they can improve it but if they could I would go back. It's a very convenient location which is I'm sure why the line is so long. Even order ahead is not great I still have to park and deal with the cars that are in line and then go pick up my drink, then go back to your car and weave around the line of cars to get back out to the driveway. When I go its always crowded.

I'm going to start timing my wait times. I decided to go back today and I arrived at 2:30 p.m. The line was fairly short, it started after the point where they tell you to pick the shortest line. Still my wait time was 18 minutes to get my drink. When there were only 4 cars in front of me I waited 6 minutes. 2 of those just grabbed their drink and left. I did not see any large orders being handed out to the other two cars so I don't understand...
