I came to IHOP a few times recently and the service was good but today it was not acceptable, after waiting almost 40 minutes with no service or meal.
We came in around 11:15 AM and it wasn't busy. The male host seated us and we waited almost ten minutes for a server, an older Caucasian woman, to take our orders.
We waited almost 30 minutes for our orders that never arrived.
Instead of following up with our orders, our server kept going into the restroom multiple times or stocking supplies at your very empty tables. She was doing anything besides helping customers without an apology or follow up with us.
Customers don't deserve to pay inflated prices for incompetent service with a 'guilt tip' included!
After waiting almost 30 minutes for our orders, the server's repeated trips to the restroom were grossing me out. We finally left at 11:52 AM because we did not want to wait any longer for food that might be undercooked or cold that we would have to send it back.
At that point we lost all trust in IHOP getting it right but made sure to let the host know how we felt about the bad service and waiting so long.
Bad customer experience all around, given that IHOP never got busy for the nearly 40 minutes spent waiting for nothing. We won't be coming back for service that's clearly 'Hit' or 'Miss'.
Servers were down nationwide which included IHOP servers not wanting to help customers!
And IHOP has a 'Loyalty Program'!? I will refrain from telling IHOP where they can shove that...
Read moreWow! Absolutely the worst experience ever. The management is truly terrible. We arrived a little after 1 pm and were seated immediately. My daughter had been looking forward to the "all you can eat pancakes." We ordered our drinks and waited several minutes for a coffee and water. Then we had to wait several more minutes to place our food order. I believe we were sitting about 10 minutes before the server took our order.
Shortly after we ordered all the waiting staff walked outside. The manager held a meeting in the middle of service! Who does this. Literally, the entire waiting staff went out of the restaurant. 30 minutes after ordering the server finally comes back in and brings my omelet to the table and tells my daughter he had to have the kitchen remake her pancakes. My omelet came completely cold and I asked immediately for a manager.
After about 5 minutes of waiting for a manager I flagged down the cashier and asked for the manager again. I repeatedly asked for a manager for about 10 minutes and they would not come because they were still holding their meeting. We finally left after nearly an hour without eating anything. I will never go here...
Read moreWe were turned away from Ihop! There was at least 22 of us in our group already seated and then the host changed his mind and told us he was unable to serve us! It was on Sat Aug 30 @ 6pm. He informed us that he only had 1 waiter, but at the same time there still were other people walking in and being seated. We got up and left and came straight to Dennys, we stopped at ihop because it was closer to the freeway and majority of our party wanted to eat at ihop, but not anymore thanks to the rude host that treated us with prejudice on his face! Dennys greeted us with a smile and was so happy to accommodate our party. We told our 1 waiter what had occurred and he was surprised, even their manager too. Just to let you know our waiter was very happy with our tips & our bill came close to $600 which it would have gone to ihop :-) what ihop forgot is that weird of mouth spreads really fast & guys what?
