I wasn’t in search of a doughnut shop. I had just exited Trader Joe’s when I saw the sign. Honestly didn’t realize the faux sugar free diet culture aspect but being celiacs the gluten free caught my eye. It’s obviously not certified gluten free just implied no obvious gluten ingredients. The staff on sight was curt and cut me off as I was ordering. It changed the entire vibe because I was excited! The place was so fun and chic. Now I realize after looking at the box what I bought. This is like a Facebook friend that’s peddling a MLM scheme but it’s their doughnut storefront. I actually adore the doughnut part itself. It’s not sweet or dense. Very light and fluffy. I think $3.50 a piece is way to steep but I can only assume the ingredients needed for this finished product is high dollar. The frosting tastes like the baby bottle pop powder very synthetic and sugary. I ate one single doughnut and my stomach ached. If struggling to cut sweets this could be a great alternative but at this price point I don’t see the health incentive. I’m giving two stars because it’s a women owned business and I can tell they pride themselves in it but I won’t go back or recommend to anyone. Anyways unless you know the person and have equity in them getting skinny just skip it. Have a doughnut and remember your worthy whatever your size.

I have wanted to get here ever since I saw her on Shark Tank and see if the donuts were as good as they all said. The store is in a non-descript strip mall, interestingly, next to Weight Watchers. Not sure how many points the donuts are! Inside is a counter with display cases with six or eight varieties of the Doatnuts. Unfortunately, the vegans that I was with could not enjoy one as they have egg whites although no dairy. I had one so as not to appear gluttonous. I chose the peach cobbler variety as the namesake is one of my favorite desserts. The donut part was somewhat greeny and not at all overly sweet. I actually liked it. It tasted like a not sweet cookie. To me it was much more satisfying than a traditional doughnut. It had some chewiness which I appreciated. The filling was a peach preserves or jam. This seemed traditional. I’m not sweetened with monk fruit like the cake part. I got two to go, one chocolate with chocolate frosting and sprinkles, and one coffee cake with crumbs on top and white swirl frosting. They have yet to be tasted. Overall, I would absolutely come back. Four dollars each is a little steep, but it was like a dessert and I’m sure the ingredients are not inexpensive. Go and satisfy your own curiosity, but I am sure that one of these days there will be one near you.

I’m leaving five stars, even though it was a 2-3 star experience because I get the feeling that Doatnuts were once made with love and with patience and with excitement before their Shark Tank episode aired. I think the ones the Sharks tasted had all of the Kimy magic in them because they seemed to genuinely like them, the hype seemed so real! When we got our donuts over a month after ordering them online and tried them well, let’s just say it did not track with the very positive reaction that the Shark Tank had. Coffee cake: no coffee and flavor, wet yet dry? Tastes like “health food” no relation to donuts except the shape. Quite small Everything: treat it like a bagel, we toasted ours and it wasn’t bad! Melting a little butter or putting a little cream cheese in it toasted may defeat the purpose but it’s still healthier than the confections that inspired it. We checked in with a very kind and understanding email when we were curious about our update package era. We even mentioned that we had gotten some for our grandma and she really liked them. The response back was less than warm and courteous, very defensive. The Doatnuts tasted of that energy…. Sincerely hope Doatnuts survives this chapter and goes on to succeed with a return to putting love back into the product.

I absolutely LOVE to support a small business but I don't think I'd call this family small lol. It's also a woman owned business too. She's killing it!! These are some absolutely delicious creations. You could tell she truly puts her heart and soul into these donuts. Plus I have to say as someone who has diabetes and can't normally can't enjoy traditional donuts. It's great there's a sugar free AMAZING treat I can enjoy. These with a ice cold glass of milk or when I want to sin my soul.. Rite Aid butter pecan ice cream with the coffee or mint n chip crumbles of the triple chocolate OMFG YES!! Definitely can see this in multiple locations in Southern California cause of what they offer, the quality, the care of the product and I think they would do great in Del Mar or La Jolla. Now I want to make this clear this isn't your traditional describe these lite, fluffy, not overly sweet but right and honestly they a piece of little heaven. I normally went to go get 1-2 but cause I was in a good I got some for my coworkers. They absolutely enjoyed them and they were like.. so when are you going to bring more in? LOL that's what I get for spoiling them right.. Probably should'nt call out another elite member but the Amanda review definitely on some kind of drugs. It is almost a laughable review ..or maybe she's a angry ex? Sorry had to add that part. I personally had a great natural customer service experience. It wasn't a fake overly happy person but chill and friendly. More chatty than most donut shops. Just randomly thought of all the pink and wanted to yell DIPSET lol cause if you know CamRon use to wear all pink. I might need to get a hoodie next time. In addition just a little mix it up advice wine from Bev and these sweet...

Where to start a review and what to write. How best can the review be written? For sure it will be absent of adolescent denunciations. Why? To simply put it, Doatnut does not make doughnuts – those confections that contain a quarter of all of the saturated fat your body requires in a day. What is more, you should think twice before eating doughnut. Why? There are approximately 300 to 700 calories, as well as 27 grams of sugar in each one. And there are many other non-nutritional ingredients in doughnuts that can and do great harm to your health. Doatnut make doatnuts, and those of you who are aware how they are made know they are healthy and delicious. As for the people who create these healthy and delicious treats, they are warm, friendly, and polite, but for some who felt they were not, it may have been due to the manner in which they treated the owners – no acrimony was visited upon me once. Not once. Could it have been that the ‘unfriendliness’ derived from elsewhere? There is something else to keep in mind when ordering, Doatnut is a family-owned small business operating from a single location and not a chain store. The people who work at Doatnut are members of a family, not a conglomerate. What is more, they do not own or operate a shipping company like Amazon, FedEx, or UPS. They are just like you and me, so cease with the adolescent denunciations. I will continue to visit Doatnut solely for their healthy and delicious treats and friendly service. Great family, good people, who try their best while doing their best. Now that is something we...
