Their hours are wrong. THEY CLOSE EARLY. Do not attempt to come here after 10:30pm on a weeknight. Of the 7 times I've been here they were closed early 4 of those. Every other Tap X doesn't have this issue. First time, 2nd time, maybe even the 3rd time I can understand, but now you're losing stars by the day. Don't tout late hours as something that separates you from other establishments when your not going to adhere to them. Heck Chipotle stays open till 10 and yes I've been there well after that.
Way in the back and easy to miss they are behind Chipotle which itself is in the Shadow of B&N. That's why I'll describe it "behind" Chipotle. Few parking spaces as most of the nearest are shared handicaps, but most of the usual's and locals use the delivery side area near the dumpsters which I don't mind either.
It's as bright and strangely sterile in décor as any other TapX. Inviting, but not comfortable the plastic nature of things don't make me want to spend uncountable hours here the way some people do. Usually there is this hum drone of Asian-esque pop playing in the background, but here it doesn't drown out any of the other guests conversations so it's actually too quiet.
I love how some of their milk tea's are more "natural" in color and not so artificially colored. "Honeydew is not green, but kind of a creamy white color", but has all the taste. Boba is their most popular, but offer grass jelly, and a dozen other add on's. The prices are cheap and service is quick. I wish they offered the macha green tea in a latte form versus only in the snow bubble offering.
The snacks on deck are always appetizing, and they have Filipino style lumpia, unlike some locations which are more traditional to their Taiwanese ownership roots.
Service is excellent and you too should love the fact they offer a daily healthy special like apple green tea so there is definitely a consciousness of health. For those who never drove to much further TapX's this will be a new experience, but to those of us who eagerly anticipated our very own local one it was a bit of a relief. It will take time to establish a stranglehold on the consumers the way the SD...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting a boba place that has quickly become one of my favorites in town. The atmosphere was vibrant and inviting, with colorful decor and a cozy seating area that made it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a drink. The menu was extensive, offering a wide variety of boba flavors and toppings, making it hard to choose just one!
One of the standout aspects of my visit was the exceptional service provided by a girl named Sumatra. From the moment I walked in, she greeted me with a warm smile and was incredibly helpful in guiding me through the menu. Her enthusiasm for the drinks was contagious, and she took the time to explain the different flavors and ingredients, making recommendations based on my preferences. It was clear that she was knowledgeable about the menu, and her passion for boba was evident in the way she spoke about each drink.
I decided to try the classic milk tea with tapioca pearls, and Sumatra suggested adding some fresh fruit to enhance the flavor. I opted for mango, and it was an excellent choice! The drink was perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of sweetness and a refreshing burst of fruity flavor from the mango. The tapioca pearls were chewy and cooked to perfection, adding a delightful texture to the drink.
Throughout my time there, Sumatra checked in on me to ensure everything was to my liking. Her friendly demeanor and attention to detail made the experience even more enjoyable. She shared stories about how she got into working at the boba shop and her favorite drinks, which made the visit feel more personal. It's not just about the drinks at this place; it's about the connections and the community that they foster.
Overall, my experience at this boba place was fantastic, largely thanks to Sumatra's exceptional service. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by to try their drinks and hopefully meet Sumatra. Her enthusiasm and dedication to providing a great customer experience truly set this place apart from others. I can't wait to go back and try...
Read moreThis was my first time coming to this Tapioca Express location as it is one of the few known boba locations close to home. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, they do not take phone orders for pick up. Arriving on-site, I understood why they did not take phone orders as they did not have enough staff to assist. My customer service experience here was good. I had no issues with the service as the cashier was nice and did the best he could with only two people working the front. Not only was he nice, but he was also honest and transparent with his recommendation, so I really appreciated that. After I placed my order, a line began to form and it was busy. The reason for my three star is because: 1) the kitchen was closed and I was looking forward to order popcorn chicken and squid balls and 2) I ordered three snow bubbles and one jasmine green milk tea with boba. The snow bubbles were very icy, so it lacked some flavor as it continued to melt. I requested to have boba in 2 of the snow bubble orders, but boba was missing in one of them, in which I paid for it. However, I did not realize it was missing boba until I already got home, which is my bad as I did not see it until then. For my milk tea order, it had no ice at all, so the drink was a bit warm/at room temperature. I understand the staff that fulfilled my order did the best he could as it was busy and probably just forgot. Due to this, unfortunately, I can’t give it a five star if I’m being honest. Perhaps next time the quality of my order will be better and hopefully they open their kitchen back up. I cannot say I highly recommend this place, but if you’re craving boba you should give this...
