Since seeing the signs and all construction going on for months we were excited to finally go here! We parked in the back parking lot, but had a confusing time how to get there, so we think the only entrance is off of the main street, but we could be wrong. We walked into a kinda very dark room, no decor, but semi-interesting look, but has a cold feeling about it, nothing warm and inviting but not a big deal if drinks are good. Bar is located far away from entrance and someone yelled "welcome to Reubens", which was odd as it felt like all the heads turned our way as we walked down to the bar (only about 6 people sitting at bar, nobody at any of the tables). We sit at corner end of bar. This young woman comes, tosses menus down, says something and says "red wines are in there and chamgange and white wines down there" pointing towards end of bar and she takes off. She never returns. I asked my boyfriend are we supposed to go look at the selections of those ourselves? No idea. Before she took off, I had immediate questions and started to aske but she acted like we were inconveniencing her, how dare we, and didn't want to hear it. We wait about 5 mins for her to return all the while I was watching the two NOT busy bartenders, boyfriendwas checkingout the liquor bottles. The one who spoke to us is doing glassware and the other taller bartender never even looked at us as she as too busy having conversations with other guests. I said to my boyfriend LETS GO SPEND OUR MONEY SOMEWHERE WHERE THEY'LL APPRECIATE US. (Later, he tells me that their booze selection wasn't anything too exciting anyway and he knows his liquors!) We get up, and make our long walk back to the door and not one of them says anything to us. We do not recommend this place if you're an adult with tastes. We will be surprised if it lasts a year. You gotta do better than that when in Lake...
Read moreHate posting negative reviews about any small business in Lake Country, but this has to be said. Watch your drink prices. They charge more that what is advertised on the menu, and then tack on extra $ as they feel fit. There’s a teeny tiny line on the back of the menu almost covered by the binding that says “the prices listed are our soft opening prices, drink prices are subject to change” so literally charging different prices for the same pour 30min apart thinking we wouldn’t notice. Nope, that’s not a good impression, feels shady, and I feel taken advantage of. Also, if you’re classifying yourself as a classy upscale bar, your bartender should know better than to squeeze the lime with their fingers in a drink and then hand it over - yuck. Only 5 cocktails on the menu :( So disappointing, had high hopes. Not fussy people, but it sucks being duped and being shady about prices. What a weird way of doing business. The flavored nuts were nice. Cool decor...
Read moreWent for karaoke and to check this bar out. It’s a beautiful bar with the nicest bathrooms in town. They even have samples in the bathroom in case you are in need- very classy. I wish more people would attend but I can understand the price of drinks are a bit more than others on the same street. Karaoke was fun and I hope they continue and more people attend. Try them out- I think they serve pizza now as well! Ruben and the bartender were...
