Jimmy's Egg — Restaurant in Odessa

Visiting Odessa and looking for an early breakfast when I came across Jimmy’s Egg which opens at 6a.

Nice location, plenty of parking and a comfortable, clean and very nicely decorated dining area. Plenty of seating in booths, tables or at the counter. This is definitely a “locals” hangout. Everything is clean and organized, and you can see right into the kitchen.

The dining room walls are decorated with Texas themed art and slogans. Most of the art work is by “Ace Walker Art” from Oklahoma, where Jimmy’s Egg started.

My server Tiffany was charming, attentive and efficient. I ordered the meat lovers omelette which was good but ordinary. I would have preferred a little more meat and would have considered a different cheese if that was an option. Regardless, it was served hot, expertly cooked and beautifully plated. The grits and sliced tomato complemented the omelette perfectly. I was disappointed that the restaurant does not offer real butter for the grits, instead serving the grits with a spread which is 48% vegetable oil, so I ate them with a little salt and pepper.

Overall a very nice experience. An excellent menu, opens early, clean and organized, and GREAT service (thank you Tiffany)....

I came in sat down and waited for about ten minutes before getting a cup of coffee. I finished my coffee and I had to wait another 10 minutes before I was offered a second cup of coffee. This is now the 4th time the service was terrible. I definitely will not be giving them another chance until they address the service issues. They make me feel like it's an imposition to wait on me. They are the ones that get paid to work here. They shouldn't make guest feel like they are an inconvenience. If it weren't for customers there would be no business. The home fries were cold and raw as well and the omelet was cold. I'm sure the waitress left it sitting in the window for a while before serving it. I understand if your busy bit there was maybe 12 people in the whole restaraunt eating. I came in around 6:00 am on 6-20-2025.it also took me over 10 minutes to get my check and pay out...

UPDATE 03/17: Okay, I admit, I was pretty (h)angry when writing the below review... ...but see the response from management below; this location ended up refunding my order, no questions asked, and providing a replacement — which was absolutely delicious (I got the "Farmer's Skillet"; all meals have extensive customization options as well).

MUCH better than that other establishment specializing in breakfast-type items you may know (naming no names, but it rhymes with "pie top"...) in both service, price, and result.
