It had good flavor that’s all. I had to-go food. So my review is not based on staff or atmosphere.
I ordered green curry + shrimp. It has peanuts which is cool, so I was excited, But they were stale. You can taste it even though they were cooked. They put in potatoes. That’s not traditionally Thai. Also they had a lot of carrots and a lot of potatoes. Very little meat. Shrimp had 3 large pieces but not much beef.
Beef was hit and miss some pieces were tough some ok.
A lot of restaurants “cheat” their food by adding a lot of heavy vegetables like carrots and potatoes so it feels heavy and like your getting a lot but it’s so they put in less meat. This is a way to skim and save money. But then the price doesn’t reflect that though.
So I ordered thru menufy their preferred method. My order was only 21$ but after menufy it was 32.99
So I was ripped off by the delivery company mainly and the restaurant just needed some improvement.
So this may be an ok restaurant. But I don’t thinks it’s truly Thai. There was no basil in my food. It wasn’t very spicy and I selected spicy. So it also means they don’t really know how to cook the spice levels.
May be a Chinese owner with a Thai restaurant.
My grandparents owned an Indian restaurant for over 40 years, their restaurant is still open and in operation.
But the rice is the real give away. All Asian countries know rice isn’t mushy. Sushi rice is large sticky grains slightly firm and slightly burst when bitten.
Indian rice (basmati) tends to be a long grain white rice, slightly firm but slightly snaps when biting it.
Chinese rice tends to be mushy for second day use in fried rice ( making the rice crisp as it’s fried)
Mediterranean rice firm but bursting. Often with other grains like quinoa or beans.
So on and so forth.
The curry was a good flavor however the lack of meat and the over abundance of vegetables says they are in need of improvement. Sometimes when places like this make some subtle changes it goes a long way.
However I would try again and leave a better review if there’s an improvement. Maybe new guy in...
Read moreI rarely get money to go out and eat, &when I finally saved enough to take my daughter& baby sitter out to eat - I chose Ruan Thai for the vegan options promoted on the internet - when we ate there the food was so yummy yet while we were sitting down eating on 3 different occurrences the main dude / potential family owner ? Did NOT wash his hands:( - he was sitting eating his own meal in the lobby while it was slow ,with only my family and another table of people in the restaurant- the server / main dude was approached by a door dasher to ask for a pick up order when the server paused from eating his meal/ finger fooding some parts- & quickly went to the back kitchen to get the order - he took zero time to use hand sanitizer or hand washing :( was in and out of the kitchen In seconds to return to his plate of food, i was instantly disgusted when I see him do it again - where the table with the people ask for their check and Togo box - he instantly stops eating his personal food, grabs and prints the check with a pen- no hand washing takes place, them their check and goes back into the kitchen- walks past the cash register- hand sanitizer ,and within legit 5 seconds comes back out of the kitchen with a Togo box. Again he has zero time to wash his hands, he did this one other time when serving us on a refill & us asking for Togo box :( I spent $60sum on 3 entrées I felt disgusted eating due to the no hand washing , after going home I had extreme tummy pains and questioned the legitimacy of them taking vegan precautions, some days later I went back and spoke directly to the main dude ,whom failed to wash his hands 3 times during our visit & explained why I was displeased- he said " sorry " and offered no true equal compensation for his health violations, rather he was to focused tending to the current line of people waiting to be seated. I honestly debated telling all those customers in line that the dude helping them fails to wash his hands Absolutely disgusted- Will never eat here again & will continue telling all about this gross...
Read moreThai food is by far my favorite so it's painful to write a bad review about it, but this place was massively dissapointing.
We ordered through their online system at 5:05pm on Saturday and immediately received a text stating the order would be ready in 35-50 minutes. Showed up to the restaurant 45 minutes later only to be told they didn't have any record of our order. The employee I checked in with then disappeared into the back leaving me and a bunch of other people behind me waiting for 10+ minutes. A different employee then tried to help and kept bringing out random boxes of food asking if it was my order. It wasn't. Then a third employee questioned me about my order, looked around a bit, and then said they didn't have it nor did they have an ordering system through their website, said sorry and moved on to the customer behind me.
Feeling pretty frustrated and honestly misled because of all the good reviews this place has, I went out to my car to try and call the customer service number provided on the order confirmation email - the people on that end said they couldn't help and directed me back into the restaurant. Went back in to try to cancel and refund my non-existing order that I had paid for online and finally saw the first employee I had talked to. He saw me and said they found my order and were working on it. No other explanation. By this point it was 6:15 (over an hour since we placed the order). At 6:45 the employee tells me my order is ready and that they're just packing it up. Took them 15 minutes (not a huge order) and I finally got the food at 7pm, two hours after placing the order. I asked if they could refund or do anything because that was an insane amount of time to wait but the employee just said "Sorry, no".
Thought we'd at least get to enjoy some great food as it seems plenty of people are willing to put up with the poor customer service, but it was extremely bland.
Pretty horrible...
