Fun place to shop and to look around. Great selection of guns, baseball bats, tennis rackets, gym shorts, sports shirts etc, at a decent price. If you work for any inventory companies (i.e. WIS, RGIS, etc) and called to this store for inventory DON'T PHUK it up on the few merchandise while counting on a hard tags, because the store manager is VERY strict and often rude to the point that he'll get your supervisor to sit you out for the whole inventory scans! Take this advise from a former employee of WIS. (Just this Big 5 location).
Don't get me wrong, Big 5 is easy inventory and a excellent place to get all the sporting/survival gear you need incase if $#!* hits the fan.
UPDATE: Been here a while back (middle of August and again in early September) and one of the employee remembers me, back in May of '11, so surprised and delighted (Because I did the inventory a while back with few minor mistakes and sat throughout the whole inventory scans.), after buying some trail mix, beef jerky and sports drink for my LONG 6+ hour bike ride to West Jordan. Got a serious thirst for long adventure and challenging bike riding in the longest...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe store had some good sales going on and you can sign up for their weekly ads for some great bargains. Last month, I went there to but some winter boots that I found on their website and the only other place I could find them was online. I went there to check them out and they had nothing close to what I had seen on the site so you might want to call before you race down there for something on their site. I ended up finding something else and they're fine for me and cheaper than the ones I wanted so at least I saved a little money. So the store, the sale prices and selection, deserve 5 stars. The customer service was just ok. There were more employees than customers and we still found it difficult to find help but that wasn't a huge problem. It was my first time there but I would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were greeted by the friendliest and kindest gentleman as soon as we walked in. His name was Kurt. This is the first time we had ever been greeted so warmly at this store! He asked what we were looking for, and sent us in the right direction. The young lady in the shoe department was juggling multiple customers, but was very friendly and helpful in spite of the fact that she had to keep going to the back to look for additional inventory for everyone she helped. She assisted us in getting the size we needed, and we headed back to the front of the store where Kurt again greeted us, and was so kind and fun while he checked us out. He even included our daughter in the conversation, which she enjoyed! We will most definitely be shopping here again...
