When you're from out of town, and in an area densely populated with restaurants like Ogunquit is, it can be difficult to choose a place to eat. We looked up Beachfire because their logo caught our eye as we drove by. We stopped to eat there because we took one look at their menu. If you haven't seen it, check it out on their website, and you'll know what I'm saying.
We were seated right away, which always makes me happy, I'm horribly impatient. It's worth noting here, if you have the choice, try to grab a table. We were originally seated at a booth, but their design has the rear of the seat sloping downward, which draws you away from the tabletop, so we asked to be moved.
We started with an order of nachos, chicken wings, and bacon dusted french fries, all of which were incredible, not just in taste, but also in portion size. The plan was originally to start with a few apps, then order dinner, but we were so stuffed from the giant portions (and we only ordered the half sized nachos), that we started to have second thoughts about our meals.
But the Beachfire menu is so chalked full of amazing choices, I couldn't resist force feeding myself, and I ordered the tips and tenders. Flat out, the steak was amazing. The marinade was absolutely perfect, giving the meat a bold flavor without it being drenched in sauce. They were cooked perfect to my order (medium), and were soft and juicy. They rivaled the best steak tips I've ever had (Quattro of Boston), and despite being absolutely stuffed to the gills, I still wanted more.
Fortunately I still had two large chicken tenders to eat, and this is no exaggeration: they were the best chicken tenders I've ever had in my entire life, and I don't play around when it comes to chicken tenders. In fact, I will base my entire opinion of your restaurant around how good your chicken tenders are, and these were, the best chicken tenders. Ever.
We finished our meal off with an order of the cinnamon roll, which was ok, it didn't really wow me, but I'll let it slide, since everything else we ordered was absolutely amazing. Seth, our server was super friendly, and the food came out quickly.
My sole complaint of our experience, was when the hostess sat a large family with loud children (including a baby) at the table directly behind us (the only two tables in a small corner of the restaurant), despite there being lots of seating elsewhere, as it was early for dinner, about 4:30. Fortunately for Beachfire, your food and service saved you from the shrieking baby who was trying to steal that fifth and final star from this review. Nothing will ruin a nice romantic date coupled with delicious food like an...
Read moreWe have been here 3 other times before and I am updating that review from 2 years ago. Those visits was great so I was looking forward to seeing if BEACHFIRE kept everything moving forward since the COVID issues.
We also brought a friend with us that has never been to this establishment.
We are very happy to report that local establishment is STILL a great restaurant.
We spent the day at Ogunquit Beach and headed over at 4pm. Busy but not crowded...we knew it was a bit early. Met at the door...no masks for customers that have been vaccinated.
We were sat quickly and our server Kristen (she was AWESOME) wasted no time introducing herself, taking a drink order and explaining the menu.
The menu has a very good mix of apps to choose from, SMOKED WINGS, sandwiches/burgers, seafood and BBQ items. Kids menu & Desserts round it all out!
(I wish they had the Ribeye I got the last time that's was awesome). A bit short on steaks for this guys taste..
The pricing looks to be on the high side...which it was on my last visit BUT when you see the size of the portions and the quality of the food; prices are the last thing on your mind!
Spicy Magarita was perfectly hot and flavorful, the Sangria was just sweet enough without being overpowering.
We ordered our food and it was back out in less than 15mins...FAST!
EVERYTHING was just as we ordered it. Again look at the pics.
I LUV WINGS and these SMOKED pieces of heaven were perfect. The side of sliced carrots and celery were huge and fresh. I tried the Buffalo & Garlic Parmagian...Freaking awesome.
All salads and sides were fresh & tasty...the BBQ potatoes salad was delightful.
Caribbean chicken was yummy w/just the right amount of zing and comes with 3 sides...3!!!
Tips & Tenders perfectly cooked. Again big portions.
Two guests could certainly order drinks, 1 app and a single dinner to share and have leftovers.
My only negative about pricing...look at the pics and ask yourself why a side of sliced jalapeños in your Mac n Cheese should be $5.00...please tell me it is a typo?????
Everything else being served looked just as impressive. FYI...NACHO fans We saw an order delivered to the table next to us and OMG...it was a loaded mountain of goodness.
All of the staff we interacted with were happy, very friendly and accommodating.
WE WILL BE BACK AND TELLING EVERYONE ABOUT OUR VISIT...
Try it out. No disappointments here...
Read moreSweet Chili Sprouts - so INCREDIBLY disappointed... 🥺 Walked over to BeachFire last night specifically to enjoy their Sweet Chili Sprouts with dinner, only to receive a charred heap of nearly inedible sprouts. Mentioned to our waitress (she was very nice) that they're more charred than we remembered, she said they're normally that dark. Tired & hungry, we didn't push the issue. Really enjoyed our Piggy Burgers & Oddball Stout, finishing both. Ate some sprouts, tried to find some good pieces to take home, and left the rest of the sprouts on the plate. Went back today shortly after they opened, to bring up the issue when we're not so tired & they weren't so busy; explained everything to the manager, and only asked that they replace the two Sweet Chili Sprouts sides.
The manager took my to-go box to show the owner; the manager returned & told us the owner also said that they've been coming out that dark, and since we didn't bring it up last night (except, we did ^^^), and since I put them in the freezer last night (which I did so they wouldn't stink up the resort kitchen fridge), they couldn't do anything. I've managed a restaurant; I would not have allowed my customers to walk away empty-handed, especially when the "ask" was only to replace two side orders.
Absolutely incredulous they wouldn't replace the two sides. If you order the Sweet Chili Sprouts, and they arrive mostly charred & not mostly green [browse thru all the photos & you'll see GREEN Sweet Chili Sprouts with "some" char, not ALL char and brown/black all the way thru)], bring up the photos on here & ask why they don't look like THOSE Sprouts. Our timeline: we ordered around 6:30'ish PM, Sun., 04/28 (Piggy Burgers were AMAZING) our receipt is time stamped 7:37PM we relaxed outside by the fire, till 8PM, with another couple who was there to pick up a pizza-to-go we walked back to the resort at 8PM restaurant closed at 8:30PM restaurant opened today, Mon. 04/29, @ 4PM we stopped in just before 5PM to revisit the charred Sprouts issue with a manager
CRUSHED; our whole family has really enjoyed BeachFire on past trips to OGT. We were planning to purchase four BeachFire-branded apparel items, as souvenirs, today; not only will we not buy their apparel, we will...
