Stutesys Pub & Grille — Restaurant in Wells

Given the competitive nature of the restaurant business in a coastal area such as Wells, when we saw a 4+ star average of Stutesy's, as well as its proximity to our hotel, my girlfriend and I became extremely excited for our meal, particularly after a long afternoon of travel from out of state.

We were greeted and seated immediately upon arrival even though the restaurant was quite busy during primetime on a Friday night. The menu was a bit more limited than I had anticipated, and surprisingly the size of the restaurant seems much smaller than the exterior of the building would suggest.

Our server was great. She was attentive, and polite. We started with an order of potato skins, and they came out quickly. The timing between being served our appetizer, and our meals was also spot on. For my meal I ordered the chicken parm sub. The serving size was huge with a massive bun, blazing hot with melted cheese, and buttered edges, and just the right amount of marinara. The chicken was juicy and fresh. The french fries were your classic americana-french fry, which although lacks originality, makes up for it in good old fashioned taste. For dessert we have the peanut butter blast, which was thick, creamy, and overwhelmingly sweet.

While nothing on the menu jumped out and says "you have to try this!" and the food and atmosphere doesn't "wow" you, Stutesy's gets a solid 4 stars for good service, great portions, reasonable prices, and no complaints taste. Add some imagination to the menu and the dishes, and this becomes an...

Looking forward to a nice drink and meal for the start of our weekend and not being from the area, was pleased to find 3 interesting beers on the menu I had not had before and wished to have a sample of each to know which would be palatable but was told by the bartender only one sample was permitted. No way to compare so chose one and had a nice meal served by a friendly and attentive waitress then went to order another 16 oz. beer but in a different mug that had more room for a head. The bartender must have taken offence as she felt the need to come to our table, disturb our meal and make a very uncomfortable scene concerning the size of the mug. it was a very disappointing and unnecessarily unpleasant experience. Unfortunately this place is no longer a highly anticipated destination for our semi-annual Wells Beach excursions. If the bartender had simply just given the 3 oz. of samples and the second beer in the requested mug without causing a scene this review would have been 5 stars and we would have continued to be happy...

My wife and I just had dinner at Stutesy;s. Started with salads, fresh, crisp and very good. Then the appetizer, sampler, wings, cheese sticks, jalapeno poppers, onion rings, wonderful. My wife got the steak tips, excellent, cooked right. I had the bacon cheese burger, Bacon was just cooked, burger is fresh and pink inside, chard on the outside, full of flavor. Now the drinks, I am a beer guy, but let me tell you, a cold glass brings out the beer flavor so well. My wife got white wine, she never drinks more than one, today she had 2. The waitress was so attentive and friendly, big smile. Atmosphere, relaxed, Fire place was such a delight. People, you have to go there, we will go...
