I will start by saying that I understand the staffing challenges and restrictions associated with COVID-19. That being said, I don't believe any of that had an impact on our dining experience at The Napoli's. As residents of Wells, we heard about the change in ownership/management, and re-opening of The Napoli's through local Facebook pages. Having not been prior to the closing, living less than ten minutes away, and being big fans of pizza, my wife and I decided to give it a shot. Upon entering, we were greeted and seated immediately. I was a bit surprised at how small it was inside, but there is bar seating, outside dining on a deck, and perhaps more seating upstairs? The main dining area is a bit small and the tables seem a bit on-top of each other. We were there early and the only ones sitting inside so it didn't bother us much, but I couldn't imagine it during the peak of summer tourist season. I could almost use the table-for-two to my left as an arm rest. There was no music playing when we arrived, but about 10 minutes into our visit, the TV started playing a YouTube playlist of Country Music. "The Top 100 Romantic Country Songs of All Time" isn't exactly what I expected to listen to at an Italian restaurant... Our server Brittany was great. Attentive and helpful, answered all of our questions with ease. Unfortunately she also had to deliver a lot bad news that seemed to stem from the restaurant opening before it was quite ready for business. The menus were just spiral bound pieces of laminated paper as the actual menus hadn't come in yet. The "Drinks and Specials" board hadn't been updated since the restaurant's original closing, so the advertised (pictured) half-off appetizers during Happy Hour (4-6) turned out to be false and was not honored. We were informed they were out of fresh mozzarella (a pretty key ingredient in an "Italian Kitchen" as the name of the restaurant states). It just seemed in a lot of ways that they opened before they were ready. We decided to order the Totchos, as out of place as they seemed for an Italian restaurant. They were fine, though cut-up, half melted, deli slices of pepper-jack cheese was not what we were expecting as a topping for a nacho-esque dish. The salsa was quite good, and the jalapenos were fresh and crunchy. We also ordered two small pizzas. They were also just fine. Definitely didn't have that bubbly-crust, piping hot, boiling cheese, brick oven flavor we love so much. I would have thought they were just baked in an oven. The Fungi sounded like a good pizza on the menu, but didn't taste like it read on the menu. There was no truffle flavor as the menu description indicated, just a bit of garlic. Enough mushrooms for two or three per slice. We also asked to add Ricotta cheese to the pizza when we ordered, but it came to the table without it. Perhaps they were also out of Ricotta (again, it's a self-proclaimed Italian Kitchen). It didn't show up on the bill, so it is what it is. The other pizza we ordered was The Zeus, which essentially is their combination style pizza with lots of meats and veggies. It was also just fine, nothing to write home about. I picked up a cluster of ground beef that had fallen off a slice onto my plate and ate it on it's own, and that's all it was, plain cooked ground beef. I know it's just a topping, but a little seasoning when cooking it goes a long way. Chunks of ham seemed a little out of place in comparison to the sliced ham I would expect on a pizza. Overall, like the food, our experience was alright. Unfortunately we will probably not be back, as there are just too many better pizza options in the area. It may seem like I'm being a bit harsh, especially in their first few days open for business, but we expected an Italian Kitchen "Naples Style Brick Oven Pizzeria" experience as their name and website claim, but we didn't get it.

I ordered a gluten free pizza and an order of fries take out. I have a gluten intolerance. When I went in to pick it up I asked if it was gluten free. 1 man said yes, the other said no. They offered to re make it for me. I went back to my car and waited. I went back in to get it and left. The fries were the same ones they cooked the first time and were cold and mushy. The pizza was fine but not worth the money spent or the trouble. I was also the only one in the restaurant at the time. My order for a small gluten free pizza was $26.99 and the ice cold fries $9.99 I also tipped them a couple bucks and there was a support local fee. Totaling $43.95. I contacted them to say something and was offered $5 back. That’s insulting. It’s hard enough eating gluten free with the inconvenience and the prices but then add in that they just didn’t care. I’ll never go back.

First time having dinner here and we were not disappointed. Everything we ordered was delicious and wonderfully prepared. Fresh ingredients, cozy atmosphere with a fireplace on a chilly rainy night, and warm friendly staff. The owner was especially attentive and made sure that our dining experience was memorable!! We ordered the calamari appetizer which we shared…a very generous portion and excellent. My husband had linguini with the bolognese sauce and their special house meatballs. I had homemade pesto with chicken served over penne, which was scrumptious. We topped everything off with excellent coffee, freshly brewed, and tiramisu from a local bakery. The perfect ending to our delicious meal! Would highly recommend and we definitely plan on returning the next time we visit Ogunquit!

I live in NH and have a time share here in Ogunguit that I come to every year and it's located next door to this place...I am not one to give negative reviews but in this case I feel as though people should know...I have been there twice in the years I've been coming to Ogunguit and both times I've had bad service... the first time a few years ago my family and I went for dinner and sat outside on the deck...it was quite busy and I understand it takes time to cater to everyone... after 15 minutes or so the waitress came and took our order and we began the wait for our food and knowing they were busy I knew it was going to take some time to get our meal but after 45 - 50 minutes I kindly asked about our meal and she said she would check on it... another 10 minutes or so she came back and apologized to us because she forgot to put our order in I was very upset that we literally wasted an hour of our time sitting there waiting and knowing she walked by us numerous times delivering food to other tables and not once did it click about our food order... After 2 years I gave it another shot...we went over around 3 for an early dinner and it was raining out so we knew there wouldn't be any issues with a lot of people...we walked in and there were very few people in there... the hostess asked if we wanted to be seated inside or outside under the tarp and we said inside... she told us to step outside while she cleared a table inside for us...(again very few people) We waited outside in the wet cold weather for what it seemed like 10 -. 15 minutes for a table inside and there were plenty of visible empty tables that we could see through the window...I said to my family that's it and we left... I will never ever step another foot in that place. It is just amazing how someone can run a business like that and not care about where their income comes from... I wish I could give it a zero...

Where do I begin! Waited over an hour for two small pizzas. Told the server one of the pizzas was wrong and she snapped at me asking me if I wanted to wait another hour for them to fix my order. I had two small children with me and it was late so I just had them split the half of the pizza that was partially right. The server then approached me and started arguing with me about who's fault it was that my order wasn't accurate. She became so irate that my mother who was with me ended up going into the kitchen to ask for a manager. When she realized she was talking with the owner, who wanted to escort her outside, she told him to come to our table and speak with me about the situation. He refused to do so and sent a shift lead or manager. They only charged for the pizza that was correct. It was the worst pizza my mother has ever had! I did not eat anything that evening as I was upset and disgusted with the way the business was run and how they let their employees treat customers who were more than patient with two young children. In all honesty, they shouldn't have charged me anything for the abuse I incurred. They should close their doors and let someone who knows the restuarant business step in. Would never recommend to anyone! Will definitely be spreading the word about their food and...
