I booked three rooms for two nights when I was in town on business. I tried several times to call the hotel with a few questions and was diverted to someone's cell phone to leave a message -- which was never returned after several messages left over several days. I also sent several emails with the same questions -- and never got a response. So I went into the office when I arrived a day early in hopes of speaking to a live person -- which I did. All squared away, I thought. Then my colleague tested positive for covid and our event got canceled. Again I tried to call, email etc., explaining that we had to unfortunately cancel - no response. So I went in in person again (not having been exposed myself) to make sure they got the message and was told that the owner would make the decision on refund due to covid or perhaps a credit for future stay, which I'd consider because I am in town frequently for business (after this I would NEVER consider staying there). I was told I would hear from the owner soon. Next day I rec'd a bill marked "NO SHOW" charged in full for three rooms/two nights. I only canceled due to circumstances beyond my control and, btw, lost a LOT of money on the canceled event too. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. PLENTY of other choices in Ogunquit in similar price range and much nicer properties. Go...
Read moreWe had stayed twice at the Town Lyne and it was fine but we had booked a room for August 2018 and then had to cancel when our pet got sick and had to go to hospital and then, the next day, my brother-in-law passed away suddenly from a heart attack. When I called Town Lyne to cancel our reservation it was 6 days before our scheduled arrival. Their deposit policy is one week's notice but in the turmoil of the two events I had missed the deadline by one day. When I said that we would appreciate our deposit return, their reply was that "people call with all kinds of excuses and make up all kinds of things to get their deposits back." When I replied that none of this was in our control and offered to send his obit as soon as we had written it, they said that if they could re-rent our room for our two night reservation, we could get our deposit back. Of course, we had no way of knowing if they did or did not but when I called back on the day we would have checked out, they said that "No, they had not been able to rent our room." So we lost about $170. and further, had the tragic reasons for which we lost our vacation demeaned and trivialized. The interaction left us with a negative view of the Town Lyne, let alone the...
Read moreI spent three nights in the Towne Lyne Motel this month. I've stayed in various places in Ogunquit, Kennebunkport, Old Orchard Beach, Wells, etc. This was my first time at Towne Lyne Motel. Making the reservation (via phone) was easy. Check-in was smooth. My room had a wonderful screened-in porch that overlooked woods and a small river... so peaceful. The room itself and the bathroom were spotless. King-sized bed was very comfortable, pillows were fluffy. All the amenities were nice: cable TV, WiFi, Keurig coffee maker (and mugs, and a measuring cup), microwave, mini-fridge. The closet was very spacious. There was a small love seat and coffee table, and a small desk and office chair. This facility sits right on Rt. 1, but back just a bit from the road. It was wonderfully quiet at night. I left the door to the screened-in porch open so I could hear the breezes and the river (and the rain). I enjoyed having my breakfast on the porch. ||I almost hesitate to say a lot of nice things about Towne Lyne Motel because I want it to stay under the radar so it's available the next time I'm in Maine. But I would definitely...
