While I usually love eating at Applebees and do 2-3 times a week I will NOT be going back to this awful location. Upon entering we were 2 of the 4 ppl sitting at the bar. The guy next to us sat there with an empty glass so long He had ask for a refill. That's not good. It took forever for The bar tender to even come over to get our drink orders and then after taking mine she just walked away without even asking my bf sitting right next to me if he wanted something to drink as well...I had to tell her "uh he prolly wants something too". So she goes to the furthest point as possible to start my drink and yells back what does he want. There is an odd yelled order for a "house long island ice tea" and she is asking what he wants in it....kinda the "house" was standard all across the board? So that was strange. Her appearance was less than steller, usually ppl try to look nice when they work with the public...not this one. She barely looked like someone who would work at AppleBees at all. She was dressed sloppy and was unkempt. She (The bar tender) had no idea what she was talking about when I tried to order chips and caso. At first she told me they were wheat flour chips ( I have Celiacs and KNOW that to not be true) when I expressed this she assured me it's been that way for the entire 5 years she's worked there. Ugh. No. So I asked her to check with the manager. So that woman told her yes it says right on it "CORN FLOUR" so I can't have it. I again tried to explain there is a difference between Corn flour and WHEAT flour. So then she changed her mind and said the ingredients list "corn slash flour" ...still no legally obligated mention of wheat. When I expressed this as well she told me they "just like to be better safe than sorry". Yeah well I'd like to be educated rather than have my food options taken away from an already limited list of foods I CAN have simply bc they can't understand simple things in life. So i asked if I myself could read the ingredients. At this she scoffed and said "that's not possible". "I can't just rip off a piece of a box and bring it out".. Guess taking a pic would have just been too smart? Then she told me "it didn't matter anyway bc if it's a "gluten thing" they use shared fryers"...I ended up finishing my one drink and we left. I for sure did NOT feel safe eating there after that ordeal. Better places can have my money....I tend to spend a lot of food if it's...
Read moreThere were all sorts of tables and booths available. The "hostess" asked if we wanted a table or booth. We said table. She stood there looking lost, until I pointed out several empty tables in plain view...??? We ordered ayce riblets. Quick food service. But the riblets were so overcooked that they couldn't be cut with the butter knives we were given to use...??? Very tough. So they don't know how to cook smaller cuts of meat. This came with a little plastic sampler cup of very lame coleslaw, and some of the saltiest french fried potatoes I've ever had...??? We reordered more riblets with instructions to not overcook the meat, and some unsalted fries. The second round was better, but still pretty tough. Of course the second round was also only two smaller pieces of riblets... So we each ordered additional riblets. The waitress was sweet, but also a bit of a scammer. She brought the check to the table, so of course I figured I'd get that out of the way. Bad idea. She cleared the bill, which closed the order, which means you're done with the meal, whether you are or not. She tried to make us feel as if she was doing us a huge favor by bringing us more to drink...??? We left with tummies full, but minds soured. That's when I realized my mouth had more than a few cuts from chewing on such tough meat, I could actually taste blood during the drive home. Bottom line - Paid extra to eat badly prepared and badly cooked food that caused physical injury. Would I consider recommending this restaurant? Nope. Here's the thing... My blood sugar was low, and we were both extremely hungry, so we ordered what we wanted and ate what we got. I should have just made my much tastier, fall-off-the-bones ribs at home, with baked potatoes and salad. There'd have been more contentment with no bloody cuts in the mouth. Management is in question for not keeping better tabs on employees performance, and customer satisfaction. Neither of us can actually say that it was overall a good experience that makes us look forward to going back there...
Read moreSeated immediately, friendly and attentive waitress and food arrived quickly. Had the four cheese penne with honey pepper chicken strips. It was lacking in rich cheese flavor. Sort of tasted pre-packaged. Chicken strips were ok, no real pepper flavor. Would not order again. Update. Had dinner on Christmas Eve with seven other family members and we were seated in an appropriate amount of time, we also were blessed with a very friendly waitress who took his care of us. Enjoyed the vibe. However the good and drinks were sub par. Ribs were old, dry, sort of like they were reheated several times. Plus they were burnt around the edges. Could not even finish a half rack and did not take the rest home. French fries were also soggy. My wife's steak was not cooked to her preference as it was well done instead of medium. Her margarita was also very light on alcohol and served in a martini glass instead of margarita glass. It's just simple food and not hard to get it right, the chefs just have to care about what they are serving. Had we been there alone and not with a big group I would have sent both meals back. I guess I'll just move on to the next restaurant. UPDATE. I was given the chance to try Applebee's again and this time everything was spot on. They're new dish, the the chicken and bacon sizzle was very good. I'd...
