The Skylight — Attraction in Newark

I was pleased with the space and beauty of having my wedding here. But there wasn’t great communication at all. I was told one thing and then the day of was told different which was really upsetting and off putting.. When going over last details/walk through I was told our 5 hours wouldn’t start until the bar opens, when I decide to open the bar(so I chose 6pm, after ceremony and pictures were done) I thought that was really cool, but night of they literally told us at 10 we needed to leave now, and I was super confused because I was told we’d have 5 hours when bar opens, so I found they opened the bar earlier than I had asked for so my time was cut and I wasn’t aware. Another thing I ran into, When booking with Bentley I was told we wouldn’t have to worry about picking up decor until later that week because of (well of course honeymoons that occur right after) and I was told not to worry about the clean up at the last walkthrough as well, but day(that night) of they told us right before we were leaving that we needed to be there in the morning to pick up. So that was kind of frustrating, on top of that we were told how we did nothing when it came to cleaning up my decor(they literally started at 9:30pm) picking my stuff off tables. Went to look at it looked and the lady “didn’t have any paperwork with her” For me to go over and sign but insisted I do the deposit on the venue. I did and tried multiple times to get ahold of them to confirm my date and also get official paperwork on this contract. They will not answer the phone or my texts or call me back. So I had no choice but to pay for a different venue. The only time they actually have answered me is to tell me they won’t give me my money back. Do not recommend as the way they handled this was extremely unprofessional and now I’m out $600 and has not even gotten any services from this...

The Skylight was perfect for our wedding ❤️ The price was excellent compared to other local wedding venues, staff was always friendly and available to answer questions and help us personalize our wedding experience, and the open bar was a hit with our guests.
