Wow… this was THE worst haunted house I have ever been to. I didn’t scream ONCE. They took us into different rooms and were yelling at us to get on the wall. Then they would make us say our names and try to be funny. We went into 4 different kinds of rooms like that. It was so stupid. It wasn’t scary, it was really weird. I kept on thinking “When am I going to get jumpscared? I want to scream” Like I am in a haunted house and didn’t scream once. The actors sucked, they weren’t even scary, they just got up in your face and were saying weird things like “where’s my toilet paper” like what?? How is that scary? They were trying to be more funny than scary, I feel like. Whenever we got under the canopy, I was watching the groups leave and no one was screaming on their way out. I was really confused. It most definitely was not worth $25 each person. And we had to wait in that long line in the freezing cold. It has changed so much, the last time I was there was about 3 years ago and I remember it being scary and full of jump scares. They used to have people who walked by the line and scared everyone but this time there was only one person walking around and he wasn’t even scary. He didn’t scary people like they usually do, he just kept making weird jokes. Also we kept on walking through and there weren’t any actors anywhere. We walked through like 2 hallways with no one there?? PLEASE do not waste your time or money here, there are so many other haunted houses that are 10 million...
Read moreFirst time that I had ever been to the Jail of Terror.
Pros: Really appreciated the passion of the workers/scarers, the attraction itself was set up very well given the limited space available, the history of the jail itself is fascinating albeit a bit eerie, I also love the fact that the money from the attraction goes directly to the upkeep of the prison.
Cons: Showed up at 7 for the 7-730 timeslot but didn't even get into the prison until after 8, I am not a big advocate of fast passes in general and its obvious they are trying to exploit people into almost having to go that route or you'll wait forever even for what looks like a short line, wayfinding and information was at a bare minimum regarding where to stand or what to expect related to wait time.
As a whole, it was a good experience. Knowing what I do now I'd do a few things differently. I understand why the flow of people is being throttled back, but waiting over an hour in line for a 20 minute scare is far from ideal. I would still recommend the experience and would suggest reading up on the prisons history beforehand to really...
Read moreWe went last night for the Valentine's Day Sucks Event, and it was pretty awesome, and did not disappoint! However, this old jail needs to be explored with the lights on to see everything at a later time! We enjoyed 80's big hair band Rock music, and some great interaction with some creepy characters, like The Warden, a masked axe murderer, and a really sweet Cupid while we waited in line. It was a wee bit chilly, and we waited for over 2 hours in the GA tix line, but upgrades were available for an additional cost. I just couldn't justify spending the extra money on the upgrade. So instead, I was gifted an awesome hoodie from my Mother! There is a pub nearby for food and drink, and Records for sale, and totally awesome décor that we visited prior to getting in line for the Jail Tour. I had a milkshake.. The tour once inside took about 15 or so minutes. I look forward...
