I usually go to Coaches Poland location, but this last time I went to their Austintown location. Newly remodeled and it's beautiful. Finally, a business that didn't cut corners and did it right in every way from top to bottom. Does not look like they spared any expense to bring you the best sports dining experience for the customer. AWESOME JOB! Hey POLAND, are you listening?? (Hint hint 😏)
Speaking of AWESOME....the new aesthetics was complimented with great service to boot. Our server CIERA was personable, pleasant, and did everything right. Once again, AWESOME JOB, thank you, CIERA! Always nice to have someone that knows what they're doing and actually has people skills. Rarity nowadays.
Coaches food (all of it!) is some of the best you'll find anywhere. Nobody comes close to their burgers. Hands down best burgers I've had in my entire life. They totally live up to their namesake. Don't believe me? Go try one of their burgers and you will be a believer, trust me. This is not a joke.
One other thing that they have on their menu that I feel is one of the best I've ever ate (if made right), is there pizza. FANTASTIC! Their ingredients are just better than anyone else's IMO. Their crust is actually crispy (again, when made right). It's not too thick and it's not too thin....it's just the right thickness. Their sauce is not too sweet and not too spicy, again, just right. They're cheese? I don't know who's brand of cheese they use, but don't stop using them! Best flavored cheese on a pizza I've had and once again, if they make it right, you get that nice bubbled browning on top of it that makes it perfect.
HOWEVER.....(both Coaches please listen), that being said, please back down on the amount of cheese you put on the pizza. That is why I keep saying "when it's made right." Depending on who makes it, they often put WAAAAY too much cheese on it. I'm not exaggerating cuz I love my cheese, but too much will make the Pizza too greasy and the crust not so crisp. I have had pizza from coaches where the cheese was so thick you couldn't cut the pizza and all the grease pulled on top of it and into the center. It became a sopping mess. Let the customer ask for extra cheese if they want to eat a block of it. I would ask them to go easy on the cheese, but I'm afraid they'll pull 180 and it'll come out with practically no cheese. So there is some balance and consistency issues with their Pizza. But when it's made right, it's the best!
Lastly, their milkshakes are also the best you'll find anywhere. If I was to give them one knock on their milkshakes it would be like their pizza, sometimes there's a lack in consistency based on who makes it. But like their pizza, when their milkshakes are made right, they have the perfect thickness, they're not too creamy, and just the right balance of flavor. Quick note though, their shakes are not cheap at all. Worth it if the person makes it right, but if they don't, you might be feeling a bit ripped off.
Bottom line.....Coaches is one of my favorite restaurants for good reason. They provide great food and great service and if you go to the Austintown location, you will also be provided fantastic atmosphere (ask for CIERA). Their burgers are the best you'll ever eat and are usually really consistent. The only knock I can give coaches at all would be having some consistency issues with their pizza (just too much cheese) and their shakes. I am a person whose middle of the road and strongly believes balance is the key to life. Keep things not too much and not too little and you'll be happy forever! Sorry for the long review, but I...
Read moreOverall, good place to watch a game & decent food. Big bar and plenty of bar, table & booth seating with lots of TV's. Good beer & draft selection. Good wings and apps, etc. & a good selection/vartiety. Overall, food is good, but not great.
HOWEVER, the main issue is that they call themselves a "Burger Bar", but you can't even order the burger to your liking - you can only get medium-well or well-done. - At least that's what the server or bartender told me. This would likely indicate low-quality or frozen beef/burger patties. At a burger bar, the meat should be decent quality and you should be able to order medium-rare, or at least medium. As a result, the burger I got was overcooked and a bit dry - each time I've been there, which has been about 3 times now. I think they need to step their game up with the burgers, if they're going to continue to advertise as a "Burger Bar". This is why I have to give them 3 stars instead of 4 or 5. I wouldn't recommend this place for food, or at least ordering a burger - *if you're a big burger person, who likes medium or medium-rare. So, just don't go expecting a fresh, juicy burger with any amount of pink or red color in it; order the wings or chicken.
If you like your burgers well-done, then this would be a great spot for you. We'll see if they change things & improve the burger quality in time, or at least drop the "burger bar" from their name. If so, I'll update my review if & when...
Read moreThis was our first visit to a Coaches. We chose to visit because of an ad on Facebook promoting some specials for St. Patty’s day. We visited on the 16th and had great service by Kyrene. She was very attentive and even made suggestions. Service was a 5 star. I had the Rueben special, it was ok, but very soggy, the bottom was mushy I think becaus it was served in a plastic boat. The sandwiche needed to be on a plate. It was small in size, but for $5 what would you expect. If this is the same Rueben on the normal menu it would not be worth the $9.99 price. I had he loaded fries as my side for an extra $2.50, the were very generous on the portion. I did not care for the cheese sauce. It had no taste and just too much. My partner had the hot garlic wings, I tried one and they were ok, but not great. They needed something, like butter. They use fresh garlic, but you could not taste it over the hot sauce. No celery or carrots available for dipping. He also had the cheese pizza which was good, nice browned cheese on top. All pizzas are 10”. Atmosphere was loud, but that was to a large group behind us that probably had too much to drink. The band playing was playing a mix of music, but hardly any Irish music, which thought was the point of having St.Patty specials all weekend. All in all I would go back. Service is a deal or no deal in my opinion, and Kyrene was...
