Upon arriving, the restaurant wasn’t busy at all yet my family and I waited exactly six minutes to be seated and as we were getting ready to walk out the door, a young lady finally came and greeted us and said she was sorry and making her rounds, yet there were only two tables filled in the whole restaurant. Upon getting seated, we were met by an unprofessional appearing server. We blew it off because we all loved this restaurant but that’s because we hadn’t been here for a while and it turns out this restaurant wasn’t as we remembered it to be. The first round of drinks came promptly but after that we were waiting ten to fifteen minutes for refills and mind you there were only two other tables filled within the whole establishment. The bread that was brought out ten minutes after the drinks was lukewarm and tasted plain. The pizza wasn’t what I remembered it at all, first off we ordered extra sauce, there was little to no sauce on the pizza at all, second off the cheese was overbearing and it had so many toppings thats all you could taste, third off, this pizza was burnt to a crisp. Our waiter kept highfiving a cook that came out of the kitchen also appearing very unprofessional wearing pajama pants. I felt as if our waiter was more worried about asking the two other tables and our table if we wanted to buy his 71 Harley than making sure we had good service. The deserts tasted subpar. My family or myself won’t be coming back to this establishment as we felt this was a huge letdown. I am Italian and this used to be my favorite place to eat but not after tonight. This place isn’t top notch anymore and for the bill we received, the food and the service sure didn’t match up with it. Milano cafe, you sure have went down the tubes! Do better...
Read moreWe need 6th Star! So, we were coordinating our uncle’s 100th birthday celebration from 3,000 miles away. No problem, right? Okay, he’s 100 years old and we are organizing a celebration for family and friends that are local and from around the country. With all there was to consider, the stressful issues of venue, food, drink, service and cost was all quickly the easiest part to resolve, we called Café Milano and spoke to Frank and Missy. Frank recommended a menu to fit our budget and a room layout to comfortably fit the number guests, with the focus on our uncle. We visited the day before to check everything out and were met by staff that were eager to assist and participate in the planning. Arriving for the big day to the private room to perform our setup we were so pleased to find the room configured, dressed and ready to go. Staff offered to make any changes that we needed and were quick to help with items we hadn’t previously discussed. The birthday celebration was an absolute success and the family is forever grateful! Interesting note; while it wasn’t a surprise celebration for our uncle, we hadn’t mentioned the restaurant by name. On arrival to the party, our 100 year uncle recalled “this is one of the best restaurants in town and has been for as long as he remembered. Interesting note 2: I decided to sneak to the bar and get myself a celebratory drink. I was met by interested bar staff and...
Read moreUse to love going to this place it was top notch best of the best. Went there and took 5 minutes to be greeted to be seated, wasn’t even that busy. Got seated drinks were ordered and brought right out but that was about the extent of the night. Ordered pizza took forever, came out overcooked ordered extra sauce there was hardly any sauce. Had to flag down a busser to get ahold of the waiter to even get refills even though he said he would bring them and kept going past our table to other tables trying to sell his 71 Harley on what he thought was top prospects. Observed cooks coming out in to the dining area wearing pajamas, doesn’t seem very professional for the type of restaurant this is supposed to be. Ordered dessert hoping it would be better as it use to be very good. Disappointed in that as well, ordered the chocolate cake and a brownie came out. I use to think this was the best Italian restaurant in Lima and Olive Garden was trash but now it’s apparent I was wrong and it’s the opposite. Oh and I was pitched the Harley sales pitch as well after the waiter was done in the back at the bar constantly talking to other staff. The atmosphere has changed dramatically no music doesn’t feel like authentic Italian doesn’t seem like anyone cares anymore. Needs an overhaul or someone watching over the show, or close the doors this...
