Service was very 'hovering' the whole time, the waiter must have stopped by the table 20 times during our visit. The tables and chairs are dated, and could use updating. We sat at a booth and the seat was ripped, and the table was pulling away from the wall. Definitely needs repairs. The chips are VERY HARD, they are difficult to eat without cheese dip, which we did order. It was your average mexican restaruant cheese dip. The food was average mexican restaurant food. The beans were pretty gross compared to over a dozen mexican restaurants I've dined at, which is disappointing because we love beans! They did not have coke products which is disappointing- nobody around seems to have coke products. We asked for no guac on one of the dishes but recieved a dish with guac and no sour cream. When we mentioned that we didn't want the guac (that comes with the lunch chimichanga), but actually did want the sour cream (that also comes with it), the waiter said he'd get us some sour cream. He comes back with a large portion of sour cream and says "normally we would charge you for this but we won't this time" Like what? We just wanted the portion that came with the meal, not a massive bowl of it! LOL Anyways- I'd probably go back, it will be another year before I pass through town so maybe something might change between...
Read moreReally really wanted to like this place. Second time here and was not good at all. The first time I went was right after they opened and it was good but not great. Decided to wait a few weeks and give it another shot. The salsa is awful. Zero flavor and very thin almost like soup. First time I went I got their salsa that is a little hotter so I asked for that this time. Didn't taste the same as last time at all. It had like a burnt taste to it and couldn't eat it after a couple bites. I just ordered a water and it tasted like an outside faucet. Then got my meal and my chicken in my chimichanga had no flavor and was dry. The sauce that goes on top was almost non existent, like they took a small spoon and threw a few splashes on there. This place is for sure a no for me. Maybe I'll try back in a few months...
Read moreSo impressed with Lima's newest Mexican restaurant! They've been open, at this point (2/23), for less than a month, AND THEY ARE CRANKING ON ALL CYLINDERS, let me tell ya!!! We were blown away! When we arrived, they were slamma-jammuhd, loaded wall-to-wall with hungry folks. We figured 30, 40 minutes at least to get a table, if not an hour. They told us "15 minutes." We were like 😏 mmm hmm. Wouldn't you know it, 15 minutes later, they led us to our seats. Man, it was all good after that. The salsa is delish. My wife is adventurous, so she ordered the special, off menu, calieante salsa. It was the best tasting hot salsa we have ever had. I got the huevos con chorizo. Came with rice and beans. YUM. My wife got the veggie plate #2. The service was outstanding, and the restaurant was clean....
