My husband has been eating here since 2011. Knowing I love Mediterranean, my husband insisted we make a detour from our old regulars, so I could try the food at Anna's Gyro's

This small mom and pop shop is locally owned and operated by the cutest elderly couple, who have been operating at this location for at 11 years, possibly longer.

My husband ordered the lamb gyro by itself and I ordered the Koobideh kabob and what I thought was a small Greek side salad. The food was made fresh to order and brought to the table in closed to go boxes. Due to the Covid 19, I appreciated that extra measure of precaution, as there were others in the restaurant.

My husband received an overflowing amount of meat in his gyro, along with yogurt sauce, and I received a huge Greek salad, two very large beef kabobs, yogurt sauce, (and it clearly says yogurt sauce, not tzatziki sauce on the menu), along with enough rice to fill the entire bottom of the box and a small container filled with Persian salad, (tomato, cucumber and onion). All of the food was extremely fresh and very tasty, including the yogurt sauce.

To address some things I read in the other reviews about this place...

My husband is OCD about germs. So OCD, he is CDO. The restaurant looked and smelled clean. He looked over the floor, tables and counter before we even ordered. Had he seen signs of bugs or uncleanliness, we would have left immediately. In addition, in the 11 years he has eating here, he has never had a problem with his food.

This restaurant is a MEDITERRANEAN restaurant, not a Greek restaurant. Almost all Mediterranean restaurants serve gyro and other similar dishes, but they don't all serve tzatziki sauce. Why? Because there are multiple styles of Mediterranean food such as: Syrian, Greek, Irainian, Israeli, Jordanian, Lebanese, etc. Each has their own spice flavor palette, their own type of bread, and their own type of sauces. If you're specifically looking for a Greek flavor palette, don't rate someone badly because you didn't bother to take five minutes to find out what style of food they cook. Instead of dash and grab, take five minutes to know the people that prepare your food.

With Covid19 running rampant for nearly a year now, every human being on the planet knows you can only go to the drink station one time. Refilling a container that you have used is not Covid19 compliant.

If a restaurant owner gets caught allowing someone to refill a possibly Covid19 infected cup at the drink station, they could be shut down. Anyone that doesn't know that by now must be living under a rock and shouldn't be going out in public and putting everyone's lives at risk.

I don't know what the issue was over the price, but this is an elderly couple and English is not their first language. They speak English just fine, but sometimes it is difficult to remember the right words if someone is behaving badly in front of you or if there is a word or two you don't understand. Not saying that is what happened. However, as with all true ethnic restaurants, (and might I add, persons old enough to be your parents and should be treated with respect just for that), diplomacy, patience and respect should be in order when resolving confusion or conflicts.

This is a mom and pop, owner operated shop that is open 7 days a week. If you order food, they cook it, allow you to eat there and then lock the door after you leave, even though it is the middle of the day and they don't close until 8 pm, do you suppose they might have had an appointment somewhere they needed to go to? They don't have any staff to cover, so they have to close if something comes up.

In summary, Anna's Gyros is locally owned and operated. The owner operators are long standing members of the community who make excellent fresh Mediterranean food, with generous portions, at a low price. If you seek Mediterranean food, or even American food, (burgers, corn dogs, fries, onion rings, cheese sticks, fried mushrooms, etc.), I highly recommend...

DO NOT EAT HERE! I went this weekend and it quickly ruined my weekend. I ordered a gyro and when I went to take off the foil to add the ranch to it a roach was crawling in the food!!! I quickly took the food back to the counter and showed the lady ( owner) she started yelling in her language and started pointing at me! Saying YOU YOU! I asked her to stop yelling at me that I wanted my money back she proceeded to yell so I yelled back and I stated that this was gross and unsanitary!! She yelled again YOU YOU! I think she was trying to say I put the roach there but I stated what would be the point?!?! The Gyro was un eaten and intact, except for the bug and opened foil! I love Gyros! I love Greek food! I am a small percent Greek but this ruined it for me! I am so upset that my love for Gyros might be gone forever!! I am a small business owner my self and I am going around supporting locally owned restaurants in these hard times so writing this was hard and took a few days to even pull myself together to do it but it has to be done! Restaurant owners know they have to keep things clean and I think this is just not right. It is not something an owner should allow in their...

I still remember this encounter over a year later. The husband is absolutely CRAZY! We have ordered from there on numerous occasions, as my wife worked a few stores over. This last time I went in by myself, and I went to the restroom before I ordered. The husband banged so loudly on the restroom door, that I thought he would break it down. I exited the bathroom and was going to order but a customer saw it and was looking surprised. I asked if that was the owner, and he replied yes. I went up to the counter to order and asked the wife why he had banged on the door as he did. The husband came out of the back with his chest puffed out at me, screaming in their native language and shooing me until I was out the door. He has always given my wife, and I looks, but this was CRAZY! When I asked the woman what he was doing and what I had done wrong, she was trying to get me to order and ignore him until she finally got angry and walked away. I should have called the police with how agressive he was with me and how he was trying to get into the bathroom. There are no signs saying customers can't use...

This small, family-owned Mediterranean restaurant may not be the fanciest spot in town, but it has a charm of its own. The place is a bit old and simple, but the food speaks for itself. The portions are generous and packed with meat – you definitely get your money’s worth. What sets this spot apart is how they compete – not just on quality, but also on price and portion size. You get incredible value for what you pay, making it a hidden gem for Mediterranean cuisine lovers. Service can be a bit slow, but it’s important to note that the restaurant is run almost entirely by the owner – most of the time, it’s just the lady handling everything. If you’re looking for a hearty meal and don’t mind a more laid-back, homey atmosphere, I highly recommend giving this place a try. It’s a true local spot that deserves support!
