Edit: Don’t bother going to submit your review on their website. They don’t follow-up. This was my very first experience dining at any Outback Steakhouse. Normally, we go to Texas Roadhouse but my niece planned her dinner party here so we gave it a try. My sister in law made a reservation for the birthday dinner so we were sat immediately upon arrival. The waitress came to the table to get drink orders and never introduced herself. The next time she came she was ready to take entree orders and this is where it all went down hill. I told her I wanted the steak for my kids to be cooked “done” with AN EXTREMELY condescending tone she goes “I don’t know what that is” proceeds to point at the temp photos on the menu to explain to me like a child there’s only a such thing as “medium well” and “well done”. I told her I completely understand where she’s coming from and what I mean by done is cooked throughout but not burnt. She continues to go back and forth with me about that until I just let it go. My husband starts his order and had a question about sides to which she responded once again extremely rude, condescending, and unprofessional. At that moment, I told her we needed a different server and she points at our other two full tables and goes “you want to make all of them order again”. I said we are on a different tab someone else can be my server. She said it doesn’t work like that and we would have to have everyone order again because we are together. I said okay what’s your name then and she told me her name was Hannah. After that interaction I kept going to my vehicle while everyone else socialized because I was uncomfortable after that and did not feel welcome. My family was occupied talking so they weren’t focused on if I was at the table or not. I never told my sister in law about the issue because I didn’t want to ruin my niece’s time at the restaurant. The first thing my sister in law mentioned after dinner in the parking lot saying our goodbyes was that she had to get a new server for her table which I didn’t notice since I had been out in the car. I asked if Hannah was the second server and she clarified that no, towards the middle of the dinner she got up and went to the hostess stand to let them know she no longer wanted Hannah as her server and if they couldn’t get someone else to wait the table then we would all leave.
So, my interaction with Hannah was not an isolated incident but her unprofessionalism was consistent with our entire party and carried throughout each interaction I had with her. I do feel like the management team set Hannah up for failure and put her in a terrible position because she had a party that was entirely too large for one server. There should’ve been at least two servers to accommodate a party that large. The food was amazing but with service like that I would’ve rather eaten at McDonald’s before being treated like that again. If this is the best she could do then she either needs to take a vacation to regroup and come back with a better attitude to improve her customer service skills or she should consider switching career paths. I absolutely could’ve given grace with the entire situation if I had been treated better. I have 6 years of experience with waiting tables and I can absolutely relate to those taxing days but I would never treat someone so poorly and make them feel less than by using such a condescending tone. I would never let a guest feel like I was rude when they’re dining at a table I’m...
Read moreGo to the texas roadhouse instead. Its like 5 minutes away. We ask to be placed on the wait list and drove in, they said their wait list was about 15 mins and we live 10 mins away and they said we took too long but they would seat us right away. Sounds fine right? They pick a table by the bar which is fine and we wait for the table to get cleared. After about five to seven minutes we could sit and the manager takes our drink orders. I got a coke and he got a double whiskey our with the well whisky. They charged him for the jack and it wasn't a double. I ordered bacon cheese fries and he ordered the mushrooms, I had less than a teaspoon of bacon on the entire app and they brought him shrimp instead of his mushrooms. They let him keep them for free saying that she just accidently rang them in instead but on the ticket it was added on and then comped off at the end which means the waiter just brought us the wrong food. The fries were pretty good as cheese fries not bacon cheese fries and so was the salad and sweet potato but we both ordered the 11oz sirloin medium rare and they brought out a filet and sirloin rare We tried to deny the filet because it wasn't ours but they just put it on our table and left to get the correct steak. They didn't actually tell us that or anything any time there was an error they just walked away. They coat the steaks in oil, and thats doesn't really help the taste. I know that oiling steaks is supposed to help cover up the fact that they have been in the freezer but they were awful. The correct second steak came out and he cut into it and it was still raw so he asked for it to be done a little more because he wanted medium rare. It came back out rare instead but burnt on one side. He was able to get through half of it before we just gave up, paid and left. We left all the food and didnt bother with the filet. All the straks were sitting in pools of oil. We won't ever be back. Oh and they only refilled his drinks, I had to ask even though I only got 1 refill the entire time I was there, I waited for about 10 minutes with my empty glass at the edge of the table and I made eye contact with our waitress after she looked at my glass and did not bring me a drink until I...

When we walked in, we had received a text message from the call ahead option just 5min prior and we were told it had been over 10min so we had to wait another 15min to be seated. We brushed it off and waited. About 10min later, they asked if we were interested in sitting at a high top table near the bar section. This is where our issues took off!
It took us 20min to be acknowledged by the waitress/bartender, she was both attending and serving our drinks. About 30min into our time sitting down a group of the waitresses friends walked in - I say this because she was being extra friendly and attentive to everyone around us. But especially that group, she would stand there and chat with them for so long. It took 1 hour for us to even get our food order in and we were starving! This was the worst service we've ever had, we love outback but this really makes us reconsider. We let her know we had signed up for the online dine rewards and could get a free bloomin onion. She cut my husband off and said "yeah yeah" - we were charged for it!
We took 2 and a half hours to eat, what should have been 1 hour. Everyone around us was served faster for both food and drinks, as I looked around I realized everyone was Caucasian and we were the only Hispanic couple in the waitresses section.
She was super friendly with every other Caucasian person in her section and we had to go ask her for the tab to be able to leave. A busboy had to bring us to go boxes because she never checked in on us in over 1 hour.
I feel targeted and disrespected at the type of service. Our meat was cooked well done and rare (we asked for medium), it was cold, and our cocktails did not taste like they even had alcohol in them, just little juice not even filled to the top. I really hope someone reaches out about this, racism is very real in society right now and the experience we got was pretty much that we stuck out from the rest and for being Hispanic we weren't...
