I had originally planned on going to Ted's and had I known how bad my experience at BJ's would be, the 40 minute wait would have been worth it! To start off I have eaten at BJ's on Memorial in the past and had a good experience. However this was not the case at BJ's near the outlet malls. The first issue I had was the staff could not figure out who was to seat my wife, two year old and myself. I guess after playing rock, paper, scissors one of them begrudgingly sat us at about the smallest booth I have ever seen, despite the fact there were 3 of us they put us in a seat that would be a struggle for a single person to eat much less a small family. Our waitress eventually came to our table and took our drink orders and then took our meal orders. That was pretty much the last time I saw the waitress. (if you like drink refills this is definitely not your place). The manager brought out our salads I made a comment about the small size of our table in which she chose to just blow it off. Then our appetizer came out (mind you that with the two salad bowls and appetizer plate, plus our two empty drinks, left us with no space on our table.). Shortly after the appetizer came out our entrees came out now we have a real issue salad bowls which hadn't been picked up yet, appetizer plate, the empty drink cups and now our entrees! No room whatsoever. I again commented about maybe moving tables since the restaurant was not even close to being full this time I got a simple hmmpff and the person walked off, I am not sure who she was definitely not our waitress. O,k our meals are almost finished a miracle occurs its our waitress! she asks if we would like a drink refill, we say yes and then don't see her again for about 20 minutes but she did come back with our bill and drink refills. We put our card in the bill book, our waitress again no where to be seen, 15 to 20 minutes later our two year old starts getting upset, so we go up to the bar area where they have cashiers to pay and hopefully leave this terrible place! Nope, the bartender gets the manager the same one from earlier that ignored my request to move tables this time, she says oh your waitress didn't pick up your check, I answered no, that's why I am up here trying to pay so we can leave. By now my two year old is very upset because she wanted to leave. I told the manager how I had waited 20 minutes to pay but had not seen my waitress and that I was not happy with the service I had experienced, to which she took my card and commented that it was cute my kid wanted to play with the receipt. She did not care one bit about how terrible my experience had been, she did not even offer a way to maybe help with the situation just ran my card and sent me on my way. Do yourself a favor if you are around the Outlet malls go to any other restaurant besides BJ's you will have a much...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped in on Wednesday the 11th for our 31st anniversary. We were seated in a booth in the bar area but not there to drink. Just enjoy a dinner out. We watched a little of the Thunder game while waiting for someone to acknowledge We had showed up. Roughly 15 minutes passed and a gentleman stopped by to take our drink order. Been there long enough to place the whole order at that time. There were 2 in the bar area working tables etc. and the place looked slow. Ordered a Pepsi product and Boba margarita, which was very good. Ordered calamari an order of baby back ribs and bacon cheese burger. Took sometime for the calamari to show and was deposited on the table and that person left. The calamari was way overcooked and really no good. We waited for someone to check status but no one ever stopped. We slammed them down and a Pepsi showed up.... that was it, no how is everything or.....A bit later, here came dinner. Ribs looked good but the messed the burger order up and no bacon. Fries were cold as well. Back to the kitchen. The wife ate the ribs, and they were good. The rest of the fixens were ok. So when the burger arrived, the fries were super hot and the burger was garnished correctly. The wife was about done and no ketchup was to be found. Neither was our Waiter. Finally my wife flagged down the seat staff to get what we needed. I had asked ahead about a to go box. We'll dinner done and still no one to check on the food, our drinks or anything. I finally had to track our Waiter down at the bar. I told him how I felt about the evening and his lack of checking and he said...you want to tell my manager. I will get him. Not a real good way to answer a pissed patron. Well I said why don't you discuss the situation with them. Paid for the meal and left a tip to reflect the service. We like this chain and have had great success with orders but this left our enthusiasm to head on...
Read moreIn my opinion this place is primarily about atmosphere being that it is a nicer upscale establishment with tall ceilings and clean modern decor providing big screen televisions throughout the place. Despite my opinion, this restaurant is certainly popular and usually crowded. The bar is a huge focal point. The menu offers a nice variety of fairly tasty entrees, yet anything close to competitive is diminishiled by exuberant cost. In other words, if cost is remotely a factor, I suggest that avoidance be exercised with a fervor. We eat at BJs more often than I like to admit and I'm always entertained by the obvious menu price shock exhibited by others who are apparently less acquainted. In my honest, fair and objective opinion this place charges a high premium for ambiance, convenience, their gigantic bar, multi-television viewing, a great wait staff and variety, since it's certainly not the quality of their moderately sized portions. The appetizers are much too overpriced. Although quite appreciated by most, the desserts are cheap sugarloaded smart concoctions that aren't really all that impressive. The $12 burgers are way overpriced, lacking enough qualifiable meat. All entrees are under the average serving size of what the ttpical competitor offers for the same or similar price. Most of my associates agree that there is often a belief if paying too much for mostly typical food that lacks in portion. The pizzas are fairly competitive, but nothing really special enough to justify the big bill. Bottom line for the average Okie; A fluff-fluff foo-foo joint for the dress to impress well-to-do as well as the wannabees with their on-line dates. This is a very popular sports bar restaurant just not very impressive to those who know what upscale should yield and who are well aware of the local options which this restaurant isn't comparable too. There's plenty more for the money found elsewhere, unless a upscale sports bar...
