5 stars for waitress & crunchy home fries/2 stars for watery scrambled eggs/0 stars for overcooked sirloin and poor seating.
Wanting steak and eggs for a Sunday breakfast I found myself in Yukon and happened upon the Interurban Grill. Much to my surprise the brunch and breakfast menus did not offer steak and eggs. However my very efficient and accommodating waitress Kylee allowed me to substitute a 6 oz sirloin for the meat options in the classic brunch breakfast.
I ordered my sirloin medium rare and while waiting for my meal observed the other diners. It did not appear to be an especially busy time and I noticed there were several booths with window views open and available however I was seated in a booth way back by the busy work area and the kitchen. This is not an uncommon experience as a single senior diner and sometimes I actually refuse and request different seating however today I was hungry and accepted the less than enjoyable seat.
The restaurant was well lit and fairly clean but noise from the kitchen and work area overshadowed my visit as employees bustled by and about and the phone rang continuously.
When my order arrived and my waitress waited while I sliced into my sirloin I instantly knew it was well done, a far cry from medium rare. An overcooked sirloin is unforgiving for texture and taste. And while she offered to have the cooks prepare a new steak the rest of my meal of scrambled eggs and potatoes appeared satisfactory so I declined. The waitress must have alerted the manager Brett who came by to offer apologies and again a new steak but I had already begun eating my meal and who wants to wait while the rest of your food gets cold. I suppose I could’ve asked for a complete redo but felt I had waited long enough. Hunger has no patience.
It was however exemplary customer service done right when asking for my check and learning that the entire meal had been comped. Saying he would never want an unhappy customer might inspire a return visit but considering the overall treatment, poor seating and overcooked steak I probably will not be returning too soon. Normally I read reviews before I test out a new restaurant but this time I didn’t. As I prepared to post my review I discovered recent reviews reporting the food has gone downhill which along with my experience does not inspire a...
Read moreFirst time here and I was a bit worried as I’ve had bad luck with new local restaurants not having any flavor or not giving you enough food for your buck. I ordered Door Dash from here last night for one meal without a drink it cost me almost $26. $20.09 for the burger itself. I normally wouldn’t have ordered that and I wasn’t planning too but what I originally ordered from another restaurant was cancelled and I received a credit so I said okay why not. It honestly was my 5th place to try and order from as I had a lot of issues with DD.
When I received it the fries were cold but still good. I was disappointed it didn’t have a dipping sauce. The honey chicken sandwich that is a popular item was amazing! I wish it had Mayo on it as the honey mustard was more on the bottom bun which made it a big soggy. I wish it was in a container on the side for take out. The flavor of the bacon was awesome! It was hard to eat with the chicken as it kept moving off the sandwich. The bun was amazing too!
Overall it was better than what I’ve had so far between Yukon and Muskogee for a chicken sandwich.
I won’t order from DD again as that was very expensive but I’ll definitely be...
Read moreMy family and I came here after church. They were very busy but got us seated right away. We got our drinks and food ordered and all was going well. This is where the story could have a very different ending. Our waitress Ashley (I believe) came by and apologized for how long our food was taking, multiple times she did this. Then the manager (I assume) also came by to apologize. Our drinks never went empty, the server was still attentive, our order just happened to get placed behind a large private party’s. Once we received our food, everything was excellent, the waitress and manager apologized again. Now here is where they prove themselves to be customer oriented, the manager offered to buy us dessert, which we accepted. Then he also gave us some gift certificates to come back another time. Many times this would turn someone away from going there and leave a bad review, it easily could have led to that, however, Ashley and the manager went over the top to ensure we were happy with the end result. Great service and thank you for staying focused on the end goal,...
