Wish I could give more than 5 stars! Not since the closing of The Ground Floor Cafe in my early 20s, have I found a coffee shop as great. This is not just a coffee shop, it's an experience. The kind of place you want to tell everyone about because you want them to succeed...and the kind of place you want to tell no one about because you want to keep it all for yourself! My friend and I tried the espresso, maple cinnamon latte, and honey lavender latte. All were excellent! The staff, Jordan & Emma, were friendly and helpful navigating the menu options and making suggestions. I can't say enough good things. The atmosphere is comforting and relaxing and will make you want to put your phone on silent and just enjoy the moment. Lots of seating options arranged in intimate groupings with antique sofas, chairs, and tables. Each area is different, providing a fun "which one will I choose" moment. Everything, down to the lighting, was carefully thought out. It's beautiful and elegant without being stuffy. Their "About" description on their webpage sums it up perfectly, "Come lose track of time with us" Do yourself a favor and check it out. Bring a book and escape. Bring a friend and ignite the lost art of conversation. You won't regret it!
To The Owners: Thank you for providing such a great place here in the city! I'd like to make a couple suggestions to consider. A selection of "quiet" board games for customers to enjoy playing...Scrabble, Chess, Checkers, etc An "on tap" brewed coffee with free refill option(s) Thanks again for providing such a wonderful product and experience! I will be...
Read moreI have been looking for an experience like this my whole life. I've always wanted a cafe that is open late at night, serves fantastic desserts and delicious coffee, and has a vibe like what you'd find in a movie. To me, I found it here. The moment I walked in and smelled the enchanting aroma of espresso and heard the mellow jazz of Chet Baker, Ella Fitzgerald, and Louis Armstrong I was sold. I ordered the Love Me Some Lavender affogato and would be fine ordering it every time I came in. The mix of the sweet but subtle honey lavender ice cream, the amber caramel drizzle, the crunchy lady finger, and the bitter espresso provided a wonderful symphony of textures, temperatures, and tastes. (I also quite loved the Earl Grey Blackberry Tart ;) ). As I enjoyed my affogato, I got to watch humanity in its purest form. I overheard a group of girls talk about past exes they had. I observed a group of friends sipping coffee and playing a board game together. I watched a couple reminisce over spending 25 years of their lives together. So effortlessly in love. And I watched as the employees worked and tended to their tasks. Everyone was present in the moment with each other. Everything was simply remarkable. A special thanks to Holly, Hannah, Kassidy, Christian, and Stevie. You guys work very hard and clearly love what you do. Keep it up! (Sorry if I...
Read moreThe photos are deceiving. All of the atmosphere and service disappointments would be overlooked if the food was outstanding but they are glaring when the food is inedible. Food: Skip it, dry and just gross. The selection is very small again not a problem IF they were fabulous but they’re horrible. We tried the tres leches cake and the millionaire bar. The textures and flavors were off and left a weird residue. We couldn’t finish them just in efforts to be polite they were that bad. No tea only coffee so we just had a cup of room temperature water. $18 without tip. Service: The cashier was kind and helpful but it was rushed and there was no service after that. No one cleaning up when people left or picking up dishes - you place your own dishes in large tub and scrape your own leftovers into a big trash bin. Atmosphere: felt crowded and busy when there were plenty of tables open it was awkward. No music to soften the echoing quiet. The photos give it a chic but chill vibe but in reality it feels like a collection of yard sale items that you’re not sure were cleaned before being thrown...
