We are huge fans of Torchy’s and decided to check this newest location out.
First, I basically had to pull a hair out of my throat after my first dip of queso. The apathetic server grabbed the bowl and brought a new one a few minutes later. No apology; no customary visit from the manager.
When our food came out, the tortillas I received were flour, despite asking for corn. Instead of taking the tacos back, they said they’d bring me corn tortillas so I could move the contents of the tacos to the new tortillas. Though a bit odd, I agreed.
Usually, Torchy’s restaurants in my area provide two corn tortillas per taco. Apparently, this location does not. Cool. Not my preference, but that’s fine.
My wife’s taco was rather skimpy on the ingredients too. At least compared to what she was accustomed to at other locations, and compared to the same taco one of my children ordered. It was maybe half as full as my kid’s taco.
Halfway through the meal, a woman I assume is one of the managers came and asked us how everything was. We explained the hair, inquired about the tortillas and my wife asked about the skimpy taco. The woman explained that they give one tortilla because they’re made fresh in-house, compared to the pre-made tortillas used at other locations. Again, cool. Not my preference, but apparently multiple tortillas is a no-go at this location.
After explaining the tortilla issue, the woman somewhat begrudgingly pulled out two $5 vouchers, gave them to us and walked to the next table.
A more satisfying response would’ve been a comped queso, an apology for the hair, an offer of a couple more tortillas and maybe a re-make of my wife’s skimpy taco.
Ultimately, this location was subpar compared to our other numerous Torchy’s experience and we will not return...

Read moreIm never one to complain about service being bad as long as your kind but tonight I'm disappointed. It seemed as if the bartender didn't want to serve us from the beginning and as soon as we sat down without even say hi she asked for out id's. Standard as me and my friend are both early 20s but she was extremely rude and it almost seemed as she expected us to be underage. When trying to decide what to drink i suggest my friend get a drink and if she didn't like it we would switch because It was a drink I knew I would like. The bartender seemed upset that I told my friend to get a drink that she didn't suggest. She forgot our food and brought it out wrong which isn't that big of a deal to me but I wish she would have own up to the fact instead of using excuses for why it was late and then came out wrong. When we were trying to pay out we asked to split the check, some how she thought we wanted to take the drink home which we both know is very illegal, and rudely said "You can't leave with the drink" after saying we knew we couldn't leave with the drinks she repeatedly told us we couldn't leave with the drinks. Me and my friend are both servers and are well aware of liquor laws. Again instead of owning up to the fact that there was miscommunication she dropped the check not split and my friend ended up paying because we were both fed up. We are both servers and it not uncommon for us to get bad service because we are younger but I don't think I've gotten such rude service before. She made us feel dumb and the bar top an unwelcoming atmosphere. DONT BE RUDE BECAUSE YOU THINK SOMEONE WONT TIP! I have always tipped 25% but if you treat people like they won't tip then...
