I have to say I'm always leary about eating seafood in a landlocked state, but this place was the bomb! From the outside to the inside, it reminded me of places in Louisiana. The interior was fun and played Cajun music! I started my meal with a 2 flight of burbon! They have a pretty extensive burbon/whiskey/rye list! Sadly, no Pappy Van Winkle! But, I would have been shocked if they had it! Started with a calamari app, and it was great! Lightly breaded and cooked to perfection! Would have been a perfect 10 but consisted of only rings; no tentacles. The accompanying dipping sauce was a marinara based and complemented the dish. The meal: The Mahi Mahi(not the lunch special) was grilled with a spicy sweet sauce and was awesome. The filet could have been a tad bigger though. The slaw garnish consisting of red cabbage, red onion was very good and I ate it all. The Creole potato salad was good, but I guess it is creole because of the addition of paprika? My last side was the jalapeño grits! Yum! Creamy goodness with a very slight heat finish. About a 4 or 5 out 10 heat scale. (I usually like no more than 8). My wife had the prime rib and shrimp. She enjoyed it immensely! The prime rib was a fair size slab! Her sides were a garlic mash, and a yellow squash that is cut in half hollowed out and stuffed with spinach and bread crumbs and topped with a lemony like hollandaise sauce! She never had squash like that before and it tasted awesome! My sister in-law had a prime rib stacked sandwich served open faced with cheddar cheese and smothered in fresh shoe string fried onions! She said it was da bomb! Also she said her coleslaw was very tasty and paired well with the sandwich! Last but not least: kudos to our server Myka! She knew the menu and was able to help us make our selections from the extensive menu!. She was friendly and attentive! This is one of the better restaurants I have eaten at in Oklahoma City area, and the next time I'm in state visiting in-laws I will make the hour plus drive...
Read moreWorst birthday dinner experience ever 🤬. We chose to celebrate here because of the prime rib and oysters menu combination. Bartender started off rude to my woman because she didn't want to order a drink. She was my designated driver. Second, I showed our waiter the picture off of the reviews on Google(you guys), on how I'd like my prime rib prepared(medium rare). It came out well done, no pink, and dry. I sent it back. The waiter had to get permission from the kitchen mgr, which came over and told us he was sorry and that my order was input wrong. The replacement steak came out, this was either the same steak with blood drizzled on top or a new steak that was also overcooked with blood drizzled on top. I refused it also. I waived down what I considered to be the house manager and explained what was going on. He apologized and said he would handle it personally. By that time my woman was finishing her plate and I was highly irritated. He brought out the best looking medium rare prime rib I've had. I showed him the same picture I'd shown the rest of the staff(for comparison), and he said all the pictures y'all leave on these reviews were photoshopped smh. Apparently it's a joint effort from unconnected patrons to make this place look better than it is. Last, I ordered a top shelf long island when we first sat down. First birthday drink of my night. Never once did my waiter ask if I'd like another one. Bro, the higher my bill the higher your tip(assuming service was satisfactory). Nothing smh. The assistant GM came and talked to us at the end and I explained our experience and got the impression they wanted to comp my meal. I told him it's my birthday, I don't want my meal compt, I just wanted a memorable experience with my lady, and they dropped the ball. And that I would pay full price and leave my tip on here for others to review. Should have just went to Red Prime Steakhouse like I started to. Hopefully y'all have a better...
Read moreMy wife and I had been here once before awhile back because she really wanted alligator. So, we came back. I wasn't enthusiastic about it as the prices are steep and I felt the food was very, ok. Let me tell you they doubled down on ensuring they'll not get a visit from me again. Food was quite sub-par for price point.. would be considered o-k if several dollars cheaper per plate, it's not. Service was horrendous. Waitress told us to put the dirty dishes on the edge of the table (appetizers and salads, etc) and she would be right back to get them. That never happened. Instead my wife ate with them crowding her space the entire time, thinking surely she'll be back to check on us, follow through, offer more bread, get refills. Nope, none of that either. Waitress upsold my son and I on a side salad add on for .99¢. nope got charged $2.50 each additionally. Had to wait around quite awhile to sort that out with the manager. The fried alligator was enjoyed by the table, but it didn't exactly come with much. Maybe during a happy hour or lunch special it would be closer to ok? My wife got the Trappers Catch, said the tilapia was surprisingly better than she anticipated but was quite disappointed that when it said "topped with shrimp and scallops", that it was going to mean two small shrimp and one small scallop. Her steamed broccoli seemed like maybe it was steamed earlier in the day? 🫤 My son got the Pasta Diablo, he said he really enjoyed it and had some kick, but he's also 1# and just an appreciative kid. I got the Cajun pasta, and wasn't impressed, especially not for the $19 price point. Still unsure why the quality was poor and service worse when it was 3pm on a Saturday and only a handful of tables occupied. Weird flex to brag about "our ranch is made in house", but then everything tastes like it was poured from a bag, can, or box. But, hey! They've got some cool taxidermy pieces...
