I'm trying to figure out where to start. First off let me explain it was slow when I visited this establishment I could see half the restaurant and not including my wife and I there were only 6 other customers. Secondly, the waitresses were very detailed cleaning tables when people left, sweeping and vacuuming too so when I say slow it really was. Unfortunately, so was the service. We (my wife and myself) were sat by the hostess with menus and said our waitress would be right with us like normal. After reading everything on the menu twice the waitress finally showed up and dropped off rolls and butter and asked what we wanted to drink. I found that odd to bring me food without giving me a drink to wash it down with first. She brought our drinks and then took our order (this is 45 minutes into our visit already), I ordered our appetizer when I ordered my food since she hadn't asked for appetizers yet. I instantly regretted coming to this establishment when 30 minutes had gone by and the waitress finally came back with refills and let us know the food would be a little bit longer! Another 15 minutes and we finally get my wife's food and the appetizer put in front of me as if it was the only food I ordered. (Having a restaurant manager mom it bothers me to get an appetizer with my food, you end up crowding the table and my food goes cold while eating the app). I was obviously frustrated that it had taken this long so I didn't say anything. The food was all hot like it had literally just come off the grill which there is no reason for if it had been ordered 45 minutes ago. (We ordered a French dip and chicken strips not something that takes forever to cook). And I finally got my food about 10 minutes later. (Another pet peeve, always bring the tables food order not individuals). I had to wait on the waitress to bring my refill twice of the 3 times I needed one. When she showed up with the check I instantly handed her the card and wished I had cash on me so we could leave. Finally after 2 hours for my wife and I to grab lunch we got out of there. That is why I for the first time ever left no tip and a message on the receipt that after 1 1/2 hours from sit down to food in front of me is...
Read moreI want to acknowledge Christina for great job at customer service. For a party our size and the only waitress, she did and exceptional job. The food would be rated zero at best. The best thing served were ribs. Chicken tenders were dry and lacked taste. The potatoes looked and tasted like they were out of a box with the added loaded ingredients. Both pastas they offered was ordered in our party but tasted and appeared the same. Noodles, meat preference and Alfredo sauce. I specifically order the New Orleans style Cajun pasta and added tomatoes and shrimp. When my food was served to me, the added ingredients were on the plate but not the ingredients that comes with it. The taste was very bland even after trying to “fix it up” with salt and pepper. The fries weren’t good either. A 4 year old didn’t eat his fries. That’s says a lot. Even the rolls were the color on their chairs. One person went to speak with the manager on duty at the time and it was a waste of breath. He was rude and careless. He claimed that we were aggressive with the staff and they were afraid to come back there. We had one waitress and that was Christina. Torrie, another staff member did help her to bring drinks and bread to our table. So who was afraid to come back there, I’m not sure. I also want to note that while Christina was taking an order, the manager stood on the other side of the section at the end of it calling her name repeatedly as she was talking. Rude, right? After ignoring him about 5 times, someone in our party had her to stop taking the order to acknowledge him. From the BOH, an employee yelled asking could we just leave so they could go home. They close at 10. We arrived between 7 and 730. We were seated a few mins after 8. Our food, salads being first, started to come out at 9:19. I’m not sure how fast we were suppose to scuffle down our entrees. I hadn’t been to any location in well over 10 years and last night I was reminded why. I definitely do not recommend the Olive Branch location because of management. I recognize food is made from a recipe so I do not blame the location specifically for the horrible food. The menu definitely...
Read moreAfter a 7-hour drive, there's ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like having dinner at O'Charleys. This O'Charley's location is definitely one to stop at if you are in the area or just passing through!
We started with the Spinach and Artichoke dip. As always with O'Charleys, it was amazing. The best Spinach and Artichoke dip I've ever had has always been at and O'Charleys restaurant. The chips were a little salty, but not too salty to eat. For me, personally, O'Charley's tortilla chips are hit and miss when it comes to that.
The chicken tenders meal was well worth it, having their Loaded Baked Potato Soup and Mac 'n' Cheese as my sides. Everything was very hot and very tasty. The chicken tenders were golden brown and crisp, but still soft enough not to crunch hard. The soft crispy crunch I got out of them is moist and satisfying every time. The potato soup was scalding hot, contrary to it's appearance, as it doesn't steam much, but that's ok. I've never had cold food at an O'Charley's location, and I'd rather have it hot than cold. The Mac and cheese was stringy and we'll cooked, the flavor being good as you would expect from a good American restaurant like this one.
The Margarita selection is small, being Regular, Strawberry, and (Mango or peach, I forgot, but it's one of those). I ordered the strawberry Margarita, and was definitely not disappointed. In fact, if I could have a margarita like this every time I went somewhere, it would most definitely be my favorite drink. Sadly, though, no other establishment can make them this good, so I'll settle for having theirs every time I'm in the area.
The waiting staff was friendly and engaging, and our waitress treated us very well despite my mistaken "How far along are you?" question which I felt immediately bad after asking. You have more than earned your tip - you deserve it.
PS I want to post a pic of my Margarita, but I apparently didn't take a picture of it, so I'll let the imaginations of those who read my reviews do the work instead - to create the image of the red Strawberry margarita, it's light-to-dark color gradient, and it's lovely salt or...
