Take 5 Oil Change — Local services in Olive Branch

Short version: polite, quick, upfront, honest, and got the job done well. Long version: The good people at Take 5 did right by me yesterday when I came in for an oil change. Their prices are posted plainly, with no hidden charges and explained at every step of the way anything they were doing or checking. Of course, they did try to upsell me a bit, which is fine, but the guys I spoke to were polite and didn’t push back when I declined. Three big things make me willing to say they do their upsells “right”: Gentleman asked about my windshield wipers and after I told him they were relatively new and still good, he basically said, “Alright, cool,” and politely moved on. Same gentleman showed me my air filter, which is relatively new and in good condition, and said as much before saying that they’d replace it if I really wanted them to but it would be fine otherwise. When I told him I’d keep that one, he said, “Yes sir,” and quickly reinstalled it. Same gentleman told me that he strongly recommended I get my coolant flushed and changed and explained why, as well as the price for that and the total I’d pay if I accepted. He did make it clear that he recommended it, but also emphasized that it was my choice because it would cost a fair bit more. I agreed and he and his coworkers got it done quickly. Further, he and his coworkers gave me the impression that had I said no, they would’ve respected my decision and not pushed the issue. All in all, yes, I paid more than I had originally planned. However, the work was done well, cleanly, and it was a done deal in about 15 minutes, tops. Between that, how polite everyone I interacted with was, the fact that, within reason, I can swing by and get fluids topped off or my tire pressure checked free of charge until my next service date, and how transparent everyone was, I feel good about my decision to get my car serviced at this Take 5 and will probably...

Had a oil leak (or so I thought). The oil had been leaking pretty badly. We decided to take it to this location to be checked out. Immediately we were greeted by one of the service men, later to be identified as Kaiden. He asked what was needed and we explained. My partner asked questions about if they topped off other fluids and was told that they did. After being guided into the bay, 3 technicians began to look under the hood. One gentleman, later identified as Davion, begin to explain that through oil could not be changed due to the severity of the leak in addition to another issue that was identified. ... A transmission leak as well. As me and my partner had a small conversation about next steps Davion stood patiently and then, very politely interjected that he would not recommend driving the vehicle. He also explained that we were low in the oil and explained the price options for them to fill it enough to make it back home. We understood and agreed and they got to work filling the oil and giving some other fluids to make our journey back safe. The other gentleman under thr hood was Will who gave the instruction to Davion and Kaiden on what was observed. This was handled very professionally, and all.Though we did not receive the news we would have liked their customer service softened that below. I know that in the future, I will use them for my all changes but based on my experience today and would recommend this location to anyone...

Before i get into my review i’d like to say besides the customer service on the front end i was not very pleased with my visit on 1/3/25. There was a tech there who i could tell was not very competent but i believe in giving people a shot. Upon draining the oil and me informing him that it was soil change only service and i had air filters for my vehicle, he still proceeded to remove the filter in an attempt to upsell, and i get that , but i told you straight up what i was here to get serviced. but as he was pouring the oil he made and Oh crap face and proceeded to pour the oil. when they finished pouring it they came and asked me to reset my oil change light and said they were just double checking and wiping it down and i was good to go. but when i left i smelled a burning smell and figured it was maybe the car in front of me but upon getting on home and seeing the smoke coming from my hood and how much oil they spilled and was infuriated by the fact they said nothing about it at all and let me drive off not knowing how far i had to go and it could’ve caused a problem way bigger and they weren’t going to say a damn thing.
