Nice little family owned restaurant, food is amazing but service was awful. Being gaslit at a restaurant is by far one of the worst feelings ever. I was so happy and excited to take my mom who is visiting my family and I to Pho Hoa, I spoke highly about it. Unfortunately, our experience quickly came to an end. Server and Manager were rude and for some reason could not make things right. This is the first time this happens here and what shocks me the most is the behavior my family and I received from the Manager herself. I had ordered a #1 Steak Pho, server confirmed and stated I confirmed with her which I did. #1 Steak Pho with extra veggies. When our food came out we were so happy and even said “Whoa how fast! Thank you so much!” When I looked I politely said “Oh no, this Pho is supposed to be a steak one.” That’s where it all went down hill, she did not stop staying and VERY sternly stated that I confirmed a chicken Pho, I don’t like chicken I’m not a fan so why would I order something I don’t like nor will eat? She said “No worries, I’m sorry we can fix that for you.” Turns out they could not and continued to tell me that I ordered a Chicken Pho. After a while I just asked to please take it off the order as I don’t wish to continue. I’ll take the loss.” She did, I politely asked for Teriyaki sauce for my sons rice she said yes and never brought it out. I waited 20-30 mins and nothing. I asked if I could please get some broth (something they had previously brought out for my children with out us ordering it) so I figured I could ask for another one, nope. That was not something they could do. After a while I asked the gal at the counter if I could please talk to someone about what happened today because I didn’t think it was fair or professional. The manager stated “You can talk to me I am the manager.” After having to deal with her unprofessional behavior, I asked if there was anyone else. I was given the number to the owner to see if I can talk to them regarding todays experience. It was really embarrassing to see how this manager truly didn’t care about their customers or the service that is provided. I called another Pho Hoa to confirm what they had told me about “Correcting the food” and they told me that’s not okay and that they fix whatever was made or written down wrong. I have reached out to the number that was provided in hopes to reach someone. Please treat your customers with respect especially if the mistake wasn’t on the customers end. Please Don’t sit there and argue and belittle customers in front of others. It’s extremely embarrassing and sad. This was one of our favorite places to eat, so I’m really bummed out with todays experience.
8/14 update: received a phone call from “Manager/ owner” who continues to be rude and disrespectful. Could not get a word in, I let her know about the situation (Tiffany was her name) and she proceeded to laugh. There was no respect, there was nothing professional about the phone call. Rather than hearing me out she hung up on me when I called back, I could not get an answer. Very & extremely disappointing. Please avoid this restaurant as they don’t care or or value...
Read moreAll service and kitchen staff wear disposable gloves that they never take off and use for and on everything! In the hour I spent dining in, I observed all the kitchen staff and FOH employee(s) that handle food (including servers prepping/working cold holding area) touch: their hair, faces, body, clothes, cellphone screens, POS screen, dirty menus people returned, food/plates going to tables and coming back from tables, unsanitized tables and surfaces, you name it! Not once changing their disposable gloves for new ones and not even "washing" their gloved hands (useless anyway). This is how norovirus spreads people, YIKES!
I'm in the F&B industry and seldom review establishments, let alone negatively, because I understand bad/tough days and slip ups can happen. This though, isn't the case here, they were not slammed and it wasn't an employee or two, it was everyone! This is a total lack of respect for BASIC hygiene practices, add to that a lack of common sense; if your open kitchen operates this way, I don't even want to imagine what is going on behind closed doors! On top of it all, they weren't even welcoming, nor friendly. =(
I hope this is at least helpful to people who care to dine in an establishment that practices at the very least basic hygiene, and/or people with compromised immune systems....
Read moreABSOLUTELY the best banh mi I've had in a while!
Decided to swing by and check this new place out, after a good ole adjustment at my chiropractor (Bay Center)! So glad I gave it a try!
Clean and roomy dining room. Very welcoming staff! Ordered to go, the cashier kindly helped me with a menu I could read better since I didn't have my glasses! Lol She patiently went over the ingredients to ensure my husbands cilantro allergy (I know so sad) wasn't on his banh mi.
I checked the hubs before leaving and not only was it correct, but it also had the order written on the paper it was rolled in. As well as mine, minus the jalapeños (the real stuff burns!)
After an errand on the way home, I was worried it wouldn't be as good. Also wasn't too sure about the mayo. I was pleasantly surprised how delicious it all was, even though it was barely warm!
Also tried the egg roll (fried roll I believe they call it), and at first I wasn't sure. It was very thin. However, it has pork and shrimp - AND was incredible!!!
Check this new business out!!! I was starving, so sorry no pics this visit, will add...
