This review will serve both as a testament to the fabulous service of this establishment and a rebuttal to a factually inaccurate review given by an immature and intoxicated customer (Jim Worley - 1 Star).
To begin with, my family and I have been frequenting this Sean O’ Casey’s location for years. We have always received timely and quality service from the servers whom we have grown fond of and are on a first name basis with. The food is always great I don’t think I would say we have ever had a complaint.
Now as for the rebuttal, the account given by this individual not only omits key facts of the night but gives a disingenuous context of the events that transpired.
We arrived at about the same time as these individuals and after only about 15 minutes of waiting this over intoxicated group of individuals thought it would be appropriate to verbally harass the waitress using vile language. The entitled rant of the individuals was loud enough that not only my table but the surrounding tables could all hear them (the lady in the group especially) yelling at the waitress for service which we all considered to be great, especially considering they were understaffed that day.
The waitress who received the verbal harassment replied, especially considering the circumstances, in a calm manner and returned back to the kitchen.
Shortly after another waiter arrived giving them their food and stating quite reasonably that they do not wish them to return due to their inappropriate conduct which in my opinion was unbecoming of even an...
Read moreSean O’Casey’s had been on my list for nearly two years. After hearing rumors that their Reuben ranks among the top three in Omaha, I finally had to give it a try.
The Reuben had all the makings of a perfect sandwich, but unfortunately, it fell short. The bread was perfectly toasted with no sogginess. The corned beef was stacked double-decker style, moist, and flavorful. The cheese melted beautifully and stretched with each bite. But then it all unraveled. The sauerkraut lacked any real tang, and the Thousand Island dressing tasted more like straight mayonnaise. A corned beef sandwich with a mayo-heavy flavor brought it down to a 3 out of 10 for me.
On a brighter note, the buffalo wings were excellent. They were crispy, well-sauced, and tasted like they could have come straight from New York. The onion rings were flavorful with a satisfying crunch that had me reaching for more. The spinach artichoke dip came with great toast, but the dip itself was a letdown. It tasted mostly of cream cheese and garlic.
Service was outstanding. Our waiter was sharp and attentive. Even without writing anything down even for a larger, specific order he got everything exactly right. The drink selection was impressive, with a solid variety of whiskeys and beers.
The atmosphere also deserves mention. Comfortable and quiet, even on a Friday night. No shouting, no overwhelming crowd just a relaxed,...
Read moreI love this place. I stop here a few times a year and ever time I’m addressed by name as I walk in. The service is what hospitality should be. Staff, managers, cook, all just outstanding. Drink choice is always a plethora of choices. Food, my goodness the food is without question the best food in town. One would think it’s just a restaurant rather than an Irish pup. The ambiance, atmosphere, decor, everything radiates authenticity. Food again yes the food, it’s amazing. I give probs to Ben every time I walk in for such a fine run establishment. He and his crew set the “bar” (pun intended) that all others should follow. If you like great drinks, great food, and great service, this is the place to be. If you’re passing through or a long time native of Omaha, stop here and enjoy a taste...
