Stopped in here for lunch on our way out of town. We were immediately greeted by the staff upon walking in the door. Once we got up to the counter, an unbelievably nice gentleman with the most welcoming smile (named Matt) helped us order by thoroughly explaining the menu and drink options. Our food was quickly delivered to our table. We tried the Cesar salad, cheese bread, the Margherita pizza and the Hawaiian pizza. It was all so fresh and delicious. The crust was cooked to perfection and the flavors on point. There was also a huge wrap around wall of drinks and cocktails that could be dispensed at the scan of your bracelet. This place was cool. While eating, we were checked on by the staff to make sure everything was ok. I am not even exaggerating when I tell you that Matt has to be one of the nicest, coolest, and most down to earth person I’ve ever met. This man has big love for his city. He patiently answered all of our questions about the restaurant, the food, the surrounding area, and Omaha as a whole. He was so contagiously passionate about the restaurant and its quality of food. He not only hyped it up, but was also not afraid to compliment other well deserving restaurants in the area too. He never put anyone or any place down either. It was such a refreshing conversation and so respectful of him to give credit to other hard working businesses. Matt made me excited about the pizza I was eating and about the food scene in Omaha. He 100% sold the Smokin’ Oak Wood Fire Pizza brand and needs to be the face of this restaurant always, so protect him at all costs.
A++++++ on the food, drinks, and customer service! We will...
Read moreTerrible service to match a mediocre pie. Ordered 3 pies at 1240pm for take out. Was told they'd be ready for pick up in 15/20min. I get there on time, pay $36 at the counter, and am told, "It'll be just a few more minutes." Okay. So I wait another 15 minutes, meanwhile pizzas are being served all over the place, couples are coming in to sit down and being served before me, like huh??? I finally ask a server who took my order, "Hey, I called almost an hour ago. What's up??" He asked me for my name again, for the 3rd time, then proceeded to look for my order in the GrubHub lane, where, low and behold, my order sat for at least 20min 🤦♂️. When I told him "this pizza has been sitting, you know this isn't good." His answer was he could "warm it up". I was soooo extremely disappointed with the lack of attention (as he snacked behind the counter), and lack of professionalism. I just walked out the door. Not to mention the fact the pizza is super small, about the size of small dinner plate for $12. Devoid of any flavor or sauce. Tasted like a stale cracker with some cheese. Do yourself a favor, avoid this place and go up just 10 more blocks to NOLIS for an true AUTHENTIC New York slice/pie from a brick oven 🍕🤌 You'll...
Read moreWe had a post-graduation party at Smokin' Oak for my college daughter and her friends. There were initially 9 different restaurants that we were considering, but Maribeth at Smokin' Oak was by far the nicest, most accommodating, and the most interested in earning our business. There was no minimum, no deposit, and no room rental fee. She reserved both indoor and outdoor space for us, so we could flex back and forth depending on the weather. She brought in charcuterie boards and dessert skewers from Graze Craze, which were all as beautiful as they were delicious. As the party got underway, Maribeth started serving various Smokin' Oak pizzas and cheese bread, all of which were delicious. She kept them coming at a perfect pace, so there was always hot food available. Even the cauliflower crust was crispy and amazing! All of our guests had drink cards, so they could freely pour their own cocktails from the numerous taps (all on our tab). It is a really cool place, everyone loved it there. The outdoor views are amazing, and created really great photo opportunities. The vibe was terrific. My daughter was quite happy with her party. I can't say enough good things about this place. Thanks for a...
