Initial review: Trinis is located inside the old market passageway. If you get to sit on the "patio" it's a very lovely open air atrium feel. Like being outside with all the plants and the outdoor brick, but it's always warm and comfortable. Inside the actual restaurant is much darker and cosier. I tried the chicken combo which included a chicken and black bean flauta, chicken and portabella enchilada with mushrooms as well as a chicken fajita 🌮 taco. Cost was any $15.50. My favorite item was the chicken which I would order. The fajita fixings had a good flavor but I personally found the shell a little too greasy for my taste. I would not order the flauta again. Its more a 3 🌟 food item for me. Service was very friendly and helpful. for dessert we had the deep fried banana with ice cream. Again I found this better to be exceptionally heavy in oil. It was difficult to cut with a spoon as the dough was very thick and not crisp. My friend seemed to really like it but I personally did not. Please note: this is one of the Mexican restaurants that do not give chips and salsa for free.

A beautiful, gorgeous location You want to take a date here , a birthday here A memory here Only to resign yourself to a half quality service With constant mistakes in food , flour tortillas given only when asked midway through a meal by my dad, when asked for corn tortillas For a meal that has them included Slow then fast , then slow again service They got the rest right, but the food was good at best. Overwhelmingly not impressed by a restaurant people rave about. It was just a average restaurant., not bad , not good, just average. Nothing wrong with that, just wanted more for a birthday meal. Overall the seating on the walkway felt very exposed and I am not sure I cared for that, everyone was nice though. Lots of gift shops and everyone is very kind. Not perfect but that's okay, just don't go expecting perfect

I love the puff tacos from here! It's one of my favorites in the area. Trini's is a hidden gem in the old market passageway. It's an extremely small space, I've normally gone in between meal times to avoid the crowd. The menu is designed to either pick an entrée or items Á la carte, which I appreciate. I dont always want a big, heavy meal. My favorite is the puff tacos and tostadas. And, of course a margarita to go with the meal. There are a few things to keep in mind. You do not automatically get chips and salsa for the table. You have to order it. The salsa is not the best I've had in town. Things like sour cream and jalapeño for your dish cost extra. If you've never been, I recommend giving it a try.

When we arrived at Trini's there was one table seated and nobody else waiting to be seated, but the "host" asked if we had a reservation. When we asked if one was needed he said no, but it is graduation weekend and they had tons of people planning on eating there. One final member of our party was looking for a place to park, a common problem in the Old Market area, and didn't get seated until about five minutes after the early part of our group had already been served. When he asked about ordering, the "host" said he would see what he could "rush" out since our table would be needed in ten minutes because of a reservation. I looked at him, and at a better than half empty restaraunt and asked "really, this specific table?" and got a snotty reply from him. At that point the last member of our party said forget about it he wasn't going to be rushed and didn't order anything. The bad thing about the location for this "host" is all the art shops right around him. See, we happened to browse those shops for the next half an hour or so and we were able to notice that the "reserved table" we were sitting at remained empty for that entire time.

The food was good though not great. The portions were fair. The service and the attitude of the "host" was so bad that I would not recommend Trini's to anyone. There is as good, if not better, Mexican fare in Omaha where they know how to treat...

I was a frequent patron of Trini's. We dined in the restaurant Saturday night. There were 5 of us, first the waiter wouldn't let me substitute a regular Taco for a Puffy Taco, even though I offered to pay extra. Then they brought everyone's food but 1 person's. They finally brought herbs out and it was not what she ordered. They then took that back and a few minutes later brought out the same wrong meal. And said she could eat that while they made her what she ordered. She took a couple of bites of her Taco and found a long piece of plastic in it. We told the waiter and he said he was sorry about the plastic in her meal. (She still hadn't received her correct meal) everyone else had eaten most of their food. I asked to speak to the manager. He came over and said the plastic happens and at least she didn't eat it and that he'd have her correct meal for her made. She said she no longer wanted it. He told her she had a bad attitude. He was a real jerk about the situation. Neither myself nor the other 4 of us will ever go back. And whatever you do don't use the restroom in the passageway. They probably haven't been cleaned in at...

CINCO DE MAYO 💃🏻 I spent the day for work around the area, and looked up Mexican restaurants within walking distant to enjoy cinco de mayo. I found Trini’s and the photos looked gorgeous making me more excited to go. The BAD REVIEW which made me give a 4 star instead of 5 is when I called to see if I needed to make a reservation since it was a holiday, when they picked up the lady on the phone came off harsh and a bit rude. She told me that she couldn’t take reservations because they were “FULL” and didn’t even let me say how many people I had in my party. After she finally asked how many people and I said just 4 she said she only have reservations for 5 and 7.. when it was 11:30am when I called. I said “so you don’t have walk-in’s” and she said no we are full and the wait will be from 30-1hr wait. Let me tell you… I hung up and ended up walking there… not only was it NOT full bur we were sitted within 5 mins LITERALLY.

Other than that our host was soooo sweet and funny, the food was great and amazing prices. The location is beautiful and shops around the area are great also ✅👏🏻👏🏻

Only feedback is the customer service over...
