Restaurant has nicely been redone, food was on the better side of ok. My family of 3 picked a combo bag and added scallops and another half pound of shrimp. Sauce was butter garlic old bay and that was delicious but it was not a true seafood boil in a bag. All seafood was precooked and tossed in the sauce. We got medium for spiciness which was a good medium not too hot for my 14 year old. Scallops were rubbery and overcooked. From a previous serving background, I noticed a few things that were not done correctly such as the plastic crab shellers are supposed to be a one time use utensil, ours were obviously washed and previously used, and cups are never to be taken back to the kitchen and refilled. A manager or someone in charge did this just previous to our server bringing us new cups with refills as it’s supposed to be done. Overall not bad but the flavor was not as delicious as a true seafood boil however our time waiting...
Read moreReally great little restaurant! We headed out Saturday evening to find something new. We changed directions a few times… go to the Old Market… nah, head north towards the Surf… nah. Headed west for a steak… nope. I remember my daughter mentioned Unity was new, but they hadn’t tried it. The word “Cajun” usually is a pass for us and our aged stomachs and a bad memory of a midtown chain that had “Cajun” in the name. Took a chance and was delighted at Unity. Super nice place! Great bar vibe and tender. Wait staff was enthusiastic but not pushy. Food was great and for the amount served, was actually cheaper than our usual standby Mexican stops. This place will definitely be added to the rotation, probably be a first stringer! Wife had shrimp, I had catfish and we shared the lobster bisque. All great stuff but the bisque is worth the trip by...
Read moreUpon entering my husband and I thought we found a good restaurant. Everything was new and clean, with promise of hope.
The service was absolutely HORRIBLE. Waited over 10 minutes for a glass of water. Only 1 server working trying to manage 7 tables. Finally a man and woman came out of the back to help the server out. Service was still crawling slow even with the 2 extra people.
The fried chicken basket gave me food poisoning. I ran to the bathroom so I wouldn't getbsick at the table, just to find that it smelled like rotten food.
The seafood boil (sausage, shrimp no head, lobster tail) gave my husband food poisoning as well. Shortly after he finished eating he was getting sick.
The atmosphere was sad and pathetic.
We definitely will NOT be...
