Bruxie — Restaurant in Orange

We all know the food at Bruxie has always been really good. When you need some comfort food, it's hard to beat. It's delicious, it's filling, and it's fast.

But what sets this place apart is the service, especially when it comes to the general manager at this location. When we expressed our disappointment about the removal of the mushroom and goat cheese waffle from the menu (which is already extremely limited for vegetarians), the GM truly went above and beyond. If you're a customer, that should be enough; the rest of the review is really for Bruxie management.

Not only did the GM explain how others had complained and why he would again be speaking with his boss about our complaint; not only did he detail the context behind the item's removal and that he was already taking steps to serve it again and what day we should come back to order it (to help prove to management that it or at least some vegetarian option should be on the menu); not only through all this did he listen openly, speak candidly, and even provide us his phone number so we could check in on our complaint; but he went even further by immediately going to speak with the kitchen staff to see if there was anything else they could use to make us a savory vegetarian waffle. And while they didn't have all of the ingredients, they did still have most, and the GM came out to our table to let us know something close to the item could be made specially for us. On top of all this, I made a mistake ordering something with cream (I can only have small amounts of lactose), and he didn't miss a beat when I had to send it back to be remade.

He didn't try to simply placate us with promises — he followed through with actions to show us he meant what he said. He treated us like people instead of some annoyance, while also demonstrating his self-respect by remaining calm, kind, and professional when faced with a complaint. His goal is very clearly to do what's right by balancing the customer's input, the financial health of the company, and the overall quality and appeal of the menu, and he demonstrated his ability to navigate these muddy waters and find solutions to problems without clear answers.

Bruxie: you're doing something right to have hired this GM. He earned two loyal customers who were close to not returning (at least not even close to as frequently) and he also earned this review. Keep hiring people like this, and promote this man at the first...

5 stars all the way! For those people complaining that this place serves Eggo waffles, they have got to be kidding me. This place serves deliciously crispy, yet fluffy waffle sandwiches. DELICIOUS, I say!!!! I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken waffle sandwich, lemon cream with berries, and a strawberry custard shake to share. Can I just say that I'm a little sad that it's over?!

Bruxie is a gem worth going back to and now I know that Sunday is an excellent day to go because parking is a little bit better in old town Orange on Sundays, I will be back to satisfy my waffle cravings. When you do go, please learn to parallel park! I can't stress this enough. Luckily, when we arrived the line was thankfully short and there were tables available.

The fried chicken waffle is served with coleslaw and a light honey glaze. It was so delightful that I had to double check what I was actually consuming. The chicken was pounded thin with a crispy buttermilk batter surrounded by a light layer of crunchy slaw and a drizzle of honey. Oh my goodness, it was scrumptious. The lemon cream with berries waffle was also equally delicious; it was filled with, you guessed it, lemon cream and FRESH berries, with a light sprinkling of powdered sugar. I saw that they had a strawberry creme brulée waffle on the specials board and I am now very sorry that I did not order it. Alas, the line became longer while we ate and I was decidedly full after consuming my food. The strawberry custard shake was very good; however, my only complaint was that it wasn't ice cold. It was as if they used cold milk and cold custard but the result was something slightly cooler than room temperature. My only thought was they should serve it in an ice cold cup but it came in a plastic cup and wasn't very cold. Oh well. Now I know. The shakes are delicious but not for a warm day. It still doesn't deter me from giving them 5 stars. The service was excellent and everyone there seemed to like being there. When they realized that we intended to share the waffle sandwiches they asked if we wanted them cut in half. Awesome service! Kudos to them for having heat lamps for their outdoor only seating. Bruxie THE Original Fried Chicken 🐔 & Waffle 🧇 house serves up a lot of delicious Food & Fun Dining Experience. Different flavorings provide great options for every diner. The seasonal beverage creations are "must try." Great for groups & very Family Friendly. Staff is very competent and practices excellent Customer Service! Has private 🅿️ parking lot & street parking is also available. Epic Location for dining, chatting...but the people watching across from Chapman University & just a couple blocks from City of Orange 🍊 Plaza ⏺️ Historical 📃 District & ⛲ Park.

BRUXIE Old Towne Orange 🍊- Wonderful Eatery that Uses Waffles 🧇 as buns or as creative wraps. Found on corner of Palm & Glassell opposite of Chapman Universitys Smith Building in Old Towne Orange 🍊. This unique Chicken 🍗 & Waffle 🧇 joint has been able 2 sustain/maintain such #Yummy food w/ true $ value since opening. Saying a lot when competing w/ over 40 more ( atleast) restaurants less than 0.5 miles away & in walkN distance in heart 🧡 of Orange 🍊 County Cali. Makes for a fun & truly tasty eating experience. Plus the surrounding area has lots of visual "distractions." Patio is ideal for people watching...sum of best in OC. Huge shade umbrellas and permanent cover area as well. Lots of seating booth or table. Even has diner type seating. Thankfully outside has water 💦 misters that everyone enjoys.
