My cousin loves the coffee from Philz, so much that he likes to get the beans so he can have it without leaving home. I picked up a pound of the half Silken and half Philtered Soul blend as it his favorite, and this location is in a great conveniently close location for me. The staff there is very courteous too, so I'm sure we'll keep going here.
2 big negatives so 5 - 2 = 3 stars: The app didn't allow me to order a drink along with the beans, and it only allows one order at a time so you can't place a second order until you pickup the first... I just thought I missed something until another guy came while I was waiting for the drink order and he had the same one order at a time issue. Also the way you have to order a bean blend per the staff is using comments the label shows comments but "title" labels it with the first bean selection... So when I asked to confirm it was a blend, the very nice worker had to find the one who filled out to confirm it...
Read moreThe parking lot was a little confusing because it was only for mobile orders. Parking on the street was plentiful, though this early in the morning may be easier than later in the day. Nobody greeted me, and there weren't any obvious signs of where to start in the ordering process. I finally saw the arrow on the floor and knew where to start. I got an ecstatic iced coffee "creamy and fluffy" is how she described it to me. It tasted a little chalky at first. There wasn't a bold flavor as described. But once I was able to mix it all up, it was alright. The ice melted pretty quickly. The paper straw lasted about 15 minutes, and the cup itself started to get soggy at the bottom, so I had to dump it into a reusable tumbler. The atmosphere was great. Good music, free grounds for your garden, and "personal touches" on each baristas sign. I will give it...
Read moreNot for me sadly. I read so many glowing reviews of this walk up, open air coffee place that my daughter and I tried it while staying at a nearby airbnb in August. If memory serves me correctly they don't do blended drinks like a chiller or frap type drink, etc. Whatever it was the choices weren't what we were used to. She is from Seattle and was bummed they didn't have white bean coffee. From that point it went downhill a bit. I think if you stick to a simple drink, hot or iced, with few bells and whistles you probably are fine. We did not enjoy the blends we ordered and didn't go back in 9 days in the area. To top it off 5 drinks was very expensive. A bit of a let down when something lacking enjoyment tattoos your...
