I would like to first start by saying I have eaten at Coopers Hawk 35+ times because we love the food and wines so much and have been members since we lived in Orlando.
On this particular trip to Coopers Hawk, we were more than dissatisfied. Food was great, wine was great but our service by won’t mention her name was terrible. The only reason I am writing this review is because I was going to speak to her manager (which I never do) but she hawked me down and asked what I was about to do. I politely told her I was going to speak to her manager about the service we received and that I still tipped her 20% on $103 even though I was not happy at all.
After speaking with the waitress I told her I was no longer going to speak with the manager and that it was ok because we got a chance to speak as I was leaving. As we were getting our 15 bottles of wine to go for our wedding I looked over and she was telling her manager about the experience from her perspective. I already told her I wasn’t going to speak to her manager which I didn’t but that made me even more upset. Below you can find a number of things that did or did not happen throughout our visit.
Lunch time and they were not busy at all in the dining area.
Did not introduce herself at the beginning. I only know her name because she told the 2 tables beside us.
Constantly gave us dumb stares and rushed off after asking a question.
We are wine club members (41.99/mo I believe) and she didn’t bother to tell us about our $50 we had saved up. Also didn’t ask if we wanted a bottle instead of 2 glasses each of wine.
Lastly but most importantly it was happy hour and I knew our check looked too high. She then questioned me like I was wrong, she looked at the menu and said I was right and then I pointed out the wines were wrongly priced and she threw it in my face because it was only saving us another 1-2 dollars. I always tip well but wow was I tempted not to. In the end I tipped a minimal 20% and left with a semi smile on my face.
I hope i never have an experience like this ever...
Read moreI usually come here and have an excellent experience but this one time, for some reason was a nightmare. I made reservations for the bar area and showed up on time. For some reason the staff seem unprepared and unwilling to seat me. I waited at the bar for almost 20 minutes for someone to clear my booth, everyone seemed like that was too much for me to ask when I started asking questions it irritated the staff I asked to speak to a manager and she approached me with a combative attitude stating that I was being rude to the staff and other customers, which was totally an absolutely false Come to find out the manager and the lady sitting all alone in the bar area that complained who was some sort of fake Kim Kardashian wanna be we’re friends, and instead of the lady at the bar minding her own business, she would not allow me to simply carry on about my personal business .after being falsely accused of harassing staff for just asking for my table and waiting for over a half an hour for one glass to be cleared from a booth after other customers came in after me and where seated the manager approached me in an aggressive manner , I felt so insulted. I simply got up and walked away. The manager made no reasonable attempt to resolve the issue. She wouldn’t even let me explain my point of view fortunately, for me , this restaurant has a 150% turnover rate and most of the hostesses servers and managers won’t be there the next time I return I’ve been there many time without any issue whatsoever, but tonight was a total embarrassment for me. thanks for Google to allow me to leave these reviews because without these platforms, people in the restaurants get to control the narratives. The bartender staff is very good but the servers and hostesses are in need of proper hospitality training for corporate owned restaurants. Also friends of managers shouldn’t be allowed to influence other customers experiences when it has absolutely nothing to...
Read moreOn Saturday, 5 October we had reservations for 7 at 5:45 PM to celebrate a birthday. We were seated at 6:10 PM and we left around 8:35 PM. The service was disappointing and our expectations were mis-managed. We would have preferred being told that reservations were running 25-30 minutes behind and that service was taking X amount of time on average. The food was great with the exception that the beef medallions were requested to be done medium well were medium rare (did not raise the issue due to the turnaround times already experienced). The house-made truffles for the birthday person were a nice surprise and were well received! The waitress was personable and had a sense of humor. Over our time there, we were not visited by a manager.
Might have been an uncharacteristic experience?
