Review #742
I had to update this review since as soon as I wrote the last one, the manager moved on. But everyone we encounter there deserves to be recognized!
Finney's has become our favorite place in the circle to go to as a family. The last two times we had a female server named Ashley who went out of our way to make everything perfect. She was so friendly and accommodating and deserves to be recognized.
Etienne is also a top notch server and always comes by to say hello--whether he serves us or not. He truly is the best!
Every time we order: onion ring tower, smash burger, salad, the kids mini sliders and the hickory bbq burger. All are amazing!
Sometimes to spice it up I order the impossible salad which is close but since I am more of a meat eater it's hard to match. I also enjoy the upscale Chik Fil A type sandwich.
The servers always bring our food and drink promptly and pay special attention to the kids. The kids love their meals and always appreciate the gummy burger they give us at the end. They also have a great time with the bowling.
I should also mention the guys bussing the table because they are so kind and they are pros! The hosts and hostesses are always pleasant no matter how busy they are. We had Jesse tonight and he was awesome!
I have even recommended this place to people from other states because it truly is the best and I know they have multiple locations. The food is great but it's the extra customer service that gets us returning time and time again. Thx Finney's!!
Review #723 Wanted to update because I have been to this place many times since my original review.
The manager, Zack, is top notch and. I wish I would have asked my server's name today as she was very patient. 5 stars for both of them. The bus boys (or men really) work exceptionally hard, too.
We always order the sliders; tater tots, smash burgers and the impossible salad. I am not a fan of vegan meats but this is as good as it gets! Sometime the meat doesn't look fully cooked, but since I know it's vegan I am always good there.
The kids love their meals, bowling and play area. And who could ever forget about their gummies for dessert! Not the kids! The smashburgers are some of the top in all of OC as are the tater tots! The bathrooms are always pretty clean considering how packed it usually is.
Finney's is now our go to place for burgers and family meals with the kids, and it's also where I always buy gift certificates for coaches etc. There really is nothing "bad" on the menu and while it might not be a 5 star restaurant for a foodie, what sets it above every other restaurant in the circle right now are the servers, the bus people and the manager, Zack. I can't commend them enough, and this is why Finney's has really earned their 5 stars!
Be forewarned; I did not order anything healthy. The kids’ fries were probably the best item and my husband really enjoyed his burger. Both the burger and sliders were swimming in so much sauce that I really couldn’t enjoy either much, and my beef was a bit too chewy. I would not order the tri tip sliders again unless you are all about the sauce.
The shrimp, while certainly jumbo had so much batter that they just weren’t great, so if you are fond of good jumbo shrimp I would skip it as they just weren’t that good!
The mini chicken corn dogs were just average and to be honest the ones I have had from Trader Joe’s are better. But this was part of the kids’ meal, so I would say skip this too. Instead order a burger or pizza for your child as they will be happy.
I did appreciate the Childrens’ drinks and game areas. My son had a ton of fun so that in itself was a bonus.
The drinks came out so fast that I couldn’t even change my mind within one second of ordering which was a bit annoying but they were quite good. The staff was all attentive. The kids’ meal even came with two little gummies which I quickly hid. It was...
Read moreI came here with a friend to celebrate her birthday. Upon entering the establishment, we found that the establishment was packed even on a weekday evening! We were fortunate enough to be seated indoors as there was still some room and upon reviewing the menu, we could see why it was a popular spot. Their menu is quite extensive and I loved how their shareable bites sounded appetizing that I almost just chose that as my main meal. They have a tablet on the table where you can order, pay, and even play some games while waiting. Prices for food and drinks were extremely reasonable so you can have a good meal without having to break the bank. They seem to have a pretty good happy hour deal so I'll have to stop by again to check that out.
|| L O C A T I O N / P A R K I N G || -Cross Streets are W. Chapman Ave. and S. Olive St. -There is a parking lot located right next to the establishment, but it was full when we went. We ended up parking at the free parking structure on N. Lemon St. and it took us about 5 minutes to walk over. The parking structure was relatively empty on a weekday evening.
|| F O O D / D R I N K S || Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice - Loved how crispy the rice was. These were super addicting to eat.
Black Truffle Burger - I asked for the patty to be cooked medium rare and that was what was delivered. The truffle flavor was pretty strong just how I liked it. It was a pretty large portion so I ended up taking half of it home. Note that their burgers do not come with sides so you'll have to order a side if you want your typical fries or onion rings.
Side of Truffle Fries - If you didn't know already, I love anything truffle so it made sense for me to get the truffle fries. These were so fresh and crispy and had a slight truffle flavor. I definitely abolished these fries so quickly.
Margarita Flight - Includes Guava, Watermelon, Blood Orange and Hibiscus. I really like the offered flavors for this flight. My favorite ended up being the hibiscus with the guava as a close contender. I did find that the drinks seemed a bit watered down. I'll have to try their stand alone drinks the next time to determine if all of their alchy drinks are...
Read moreFinney's is a great local spot for American comfort food, refreshing beers, a lively atmosphere, and sports watching. It offers spacious dining inside, a patio, and a large bar with multiple TVs spread around the restaurant. There are a couple of skeeball games in the back, and Happy Hour is from 3 to 5 pm with plenty of menu options.
I've been here a few times, and it's always been pleasant with delicious food. Service and staff have been good and attentive. Reservations are accepted, but we haven't needed them the last couple of times we've visited for lunch or dinner. I think this is best for larger parties and specific seating requests.
FOOD: I love the variety of the appetizers and entrées here. Onion Ring tower - beer battered and not too greasy. The three dipping sauces are great, too. Bavarian Pretzel is warm and soft with salt, but the dipping sauce is just okay. The cheese dip and sweet mustard weren't that great. I ended up enjoying this with plain mustard. Mahi Mahi Tacos - I had this grilled, and it was delicious. The house-made tortillas and fresh ingredients worked well. The salsa sauce was nice too. Prime Rib Cheesesteak is also a tasty option that's flavorful Cesar salad was just average Grilled Chicken Club Any of the burgers are good too! Birthday dessert!
Overall, I'm a fan of Finney's and hope to...
