Ojai Burger — Restaurant in Orange

Wow...just a humble locals opinion Ojai 🍔 Burger in Old Towne🍊 Orange. We have seen many Eatery's come and go... especially @ this location but Ojai 🍔 Burger has lasted for many tasty reasons!

Their Japanese-inspired take on American classics intrigued us. Hamburger 🍔 's Waffles 🧇 's & Rice 🍚 bowls...rather novel! Finally, sum buddies and i ventured in & were very glad we did.

The location & restaurant itself is a gem 💎 Just inside the Orange 🍊 Plaza Historical 📃 District in the heart 🧡 of the Old Towne Circle ⏺️ the historical brick 🧱 building gives it instant charm, and the trees🌴overhead create a lovely dappled-light vibe cuz the leaves. Inside, it's unpretentious but cool. Can even watch them create the food.

We kicked things off with the loaded Miso Fries – crispy, savory, and totally addictive. The real stars ✨tho, were defly The Burgers 🍔. Brother went fore the Chief Peak with its Wagyu patty, demi-glace, and mushrooms ( deciding factor lol). His words- absolute umami heaven! GF tried the rice bowls & defly said we r coming back👍 My friends loved their Ojai Chicken Sandwich and the Menchi Katsu Burger. Sauces and condiment offerings r super & match well.

Personally have 2 give a special shoutout 2 the Staff. As a double amputee with leukemia, things can be "challenging" or get that way fast & unexpectedly... happened when was makN order w/ long line. Got flustered & kept forgetting parts of our order, but The Staff was incredibly patient and accommodating. Even gave sum glances 2 folks in line 2 cool their jets. Lots of empathy. Appreciate!

When meals ready we piKd-up & grabbed a few more drinks then we found perfect picnic table spot on the shared patio and did some prime people-watching. Parking 🅿️ is easier than most think. Largest parking structure in Old Towne Orange 🍊 is across street on lemon Street. Can see from front door so close. Also , Large city parking 🅿️ lot just 2 blocks away.

Ojai Burger exceeded our expectations on all fronts...Again- Stellar Burger 🍔 joint, Beverages of all kinds r fantastic, delicious sides and small plates/snacks 2 share ( or not lol), that includes waffles 🧇, but the menu diversity meter was high after seeing they even have healthy fresh rice 🍚 bowls with choice of protein 🍜. Then went off charts at the beverage selections. From coffee creations- Super fruit smoothies. Tonight my wife and I headed to Old Orange for a quick bite to eat. While walking along Chapman Avenue we came across a small eatery with many very interesting menu selections. For those who enjoy specialty burgers and awesome fries, it’s called “Ojai Burger”.

Never having been there before we didn't know what to expect. However, I'm happy to report we really enjoyed it there, and will certainly go back. Here are a few highlights.

Service was outstanding (5-star).

The quality of the food was (5-star).

Portion sizes were in the humongous range (5-star).

The cleanliness of the restaurant was (5-star).

Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating (5-star).

Elijah and his Team took fantastic care of us and even stopped by our table to ensure everything was satisfactory (my wife and I really liked the gentleman, and initially thought he might be the owner). Again another great rating (5-star).

We just happened to get in at a great time (right before the evening rush). However, we could easily see the ramp-up of clientele as we were finishing up and heading out. The service and food were so good that we don't think they ever lack for customers. We dug right into our meals the moment they arrived at our table, hence we forgot to take photos of the portion sizes (sorry about that).

Anyway, just know we’d definitely recommend the place to both family and friends. You will NOT be disappointed. The menu is very unique, and they all know what they're doing. So go get a burger or a rice bowl or whatever suits your fancy and enjoy....

Express my extreme disappointment and frustration with my recent experience at Ojai Burger. This marks the second consecutive time I have received an unacceptable order.

On this occasion, both burgers I ordered were delivered burnt—clearly overcooked and unfit to serve. Additionally, my specific request for sauce on the side was entirely ignored, despite the fact that I included it in my order instructions and even reiterated it through the DoorDash driver, who confirmed she relayed it to your staff.

To make matters worse, I had requested and paid for one of the burgers to come without cheese. This instruction was disregarded, and instead, I was given two identical burgers with none of my directions followed. The result was not only inaccurate but also careless.

This pattern of negligence demonstrates a serious lack of quality control, attention to detail, and respect for paying customers. Twice in a row, Ojai Burger has failed to provide even a satisfactory meal.

I expect better from a restaurant that positions itself as a quality establishment. At a minimum, I would like acknowledgment of this repeated issue and assurance that steps will be taken to prevent such careless mistakes in the future.
