Don’t go bacon my heart. @snoozeameatery is celebrating National Bacon Day on Saturday, September 2nd! A portion 20% of the proceeds from Bacon Day specials are going to be donated to @wckitchen, up to $35k. Here’s the specials you can choose from:
 * The Graceland Pancake – banana, peanut butter and bacon * Bacon & Eggs Pancake – a savory pancake with bacon inside and an egg on top * Bacon But Different * Maple and Black Pepper Glazed Bacon * Bloody with Bacon Add-on * Habanero Pork Belly Benny
I got the “Bacon but different,” and dang, it was so good. It was thick cut bacon with a glaze of brown sugar, cayenne pepper, and chili flakes.
We also of course had to try a few other dishes, and get the breakfast burrito, breakfast pasta, and kale and avocado quinoa bowl. All were also delish.

CRANBERRY BRUNCH AND MORE @snoozeameatery in Orange, CA. 🍳 🥞 They have a special holiday menu that I had to try out before December ends so let me show you what I got. First is this Short Rib & Gruyere Polenta for $21.50. It’s this creamy short rib dish with roasted sweet potatoes & kale with housemade gravy. My favorite one of the meal. Then there was the Cranberry Orange Pancakes for $12.25 it’s their buttermilk pancakes topped with orange custard, candied cranberries, cranberry mascarpone and shortbread crumble. Next is this Cranberry Orange Snoozius drink for $7.50 they actually have a lot of holiday drinks and mimosas on the menu that come in boozy but yo can also get them in a mocktail version. This one has house made vanilla cranberry juice and orange juice. Not on the holiday menu was this new Carbonara Breakfast Pasta for $16.75. It’s this spaghetti toped with parmesan soft scramble cage free eggs, habanero pork belly, red onions, garlic and diced tomatoes, brioche crumbs, and crispy prosciutto. Finally I got the the Sweet Potato Bacon Smash Up for $14.25 which is a scramble with pickled onions and chopped bacon, avocado, poached egg, and maple syrup on top. If you want this save it now #SnoozePartner #breakfastfood #brunchfood #eggscramble #cranberry #Pancakes Brunch spots Orange County breakfast food Orange California brunch food tustin restaurants breakfast downtown orange food spots family restaurant Orange County irvine restaurants Huntington Beach

Famous for its long waits but tasty food, this kitschy eatery hits many of the right notes. The service is friendly and the decor is well-executed to evoke a bygone era but in a fresh way. Now to the food. Everything was really quite good. On this visit I ordered the Benny Duo (an amazing option for those of us who want to try everything) with one classic and one chili verde benedict with shredded pork. I started with the latter and was immediately impressed by the combination of flavors and textures. I liked the layered tortilla base which was almost like a sope. For the traditional benedict, the slices of ham were hearty and the hollandaise was light and creamy. The hash brown cake on the side was a little blah compared to the benedicts, but maybe that’s intentional. Around the rest of the table, there was a breakfast burrito, sweet potato hash and a breakfast sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. To share, we ordered the pancake of the day. I don’t remember what they called it, but it had white chocolate chips, chocolate and peanut butter sauce and was divine. The chips melted and got a little crunchy so it was almost like there were toffee bits in the pancake. The batter is dense but stays fluffy. If I had one critique, it’d be about how the delay of an entree was handled. Three of our entrees arrived at the same time and the 4th didn’t. After about 10 minutes... we were told one of the elements of the dish wasn’t available and was there an alternative they could offer. That’s fine and the dish came out shortly after, but why wasn’t that asked before everything was brought out 10 minutes earlier? Anyway, it’s not something that will not bring us back, but is something that could be improved.

Whatever you do, DO NOT order takeout from this place. I waited 30 minutes for an order that got neglected! Their takeout staff did absolutely everything except takeout. A male worker eventually asked if I needed anything after I had been standing there for 10 minutes, and then proceeded to tie off the bag since the order was ready just not packaged to standards. He then told me that they were missing the drinks and then proceeded to not make the drinks, and forgot about the order! I then waited an additional 15 minutes just to be asked by a female worker also working the bar if I needed anything. In total I spent 30 minutes at the restaurant, in which 25 was spent on one out of two orders, and 15 of that was me waiting for drinks that would’ve never been made if that female worker didn’t ask if I needed anything. I used to work at a breakfast restaurant nearby a church and hated working Sundays due to how busy we were, so I do understand that the workers were busy and I didn’t want to push them too much, but they didn’t even bother multitasking with the orders. They would bring out the food and place them on the counter just for it to be sat there for 15 minutes before they realize they need to bag it. Absolutely horrible takeout service, which is such a shame because my wife and I loved eating at this restaurant. On top of that, they didn’t properly close the lid on a drink, and I didn’t realize until I had reached my destination. So long wait time, and poor service, and now I need to get my car detailed to get the coffee out of my passenger seat. If I could id give this place...
