Update: I almost never used Dominos any more. The delivery people are still incredible... but...
So remember I said that it's good to have communicative, friendly people "in case" of a problem? Well the problem I hadn't mentioned was that my often ordered salad arrived wilted and with shards of the plastic of the broken container in the salad! I took pictures, called the store and wondered aloud on facebook how such a thing was possible. How many hands did it pass through? When was it broken? Did all those people not notice or not care?
After my complaint, everyone who could apologize did -from middle to upper management. I got phone calls, a new salad obviously, and even a postcard with another apology and free pizza.
I felt deliciously heard. And I thought I had done a good thing. In the future there would be more oversight and at the very least I would never have another bad salad. Right? RIGHT?
Wrong.
It was less than 2-3 months before my chicken caesar salad arrived without plastic shards. But I took a bite only to discover the chicken was spoiled. HELL NO... you did not just?! But they did! They had! And I had been had.
I threw the salad out and called no one. I didn't need more meaningless apologies or a "new" salad. I will never eat their salad again.
Only the personalities of a few staff members and the swift arrival of late night bbq wings keeps them from dropping from 5 stars to zero.
(below was written 10 months ago as of July 11th 2018. They don't pay me to do math. If "real" numbers are important to you, math yourself out. The rating then: 5 stars.) The people are even better than the pizza. Great delivery folks (I wanted to adopt them even before they fed me) and really good management. Important if there's a problem. Which has happened. But they went above and beyond to make things "right". There are admittedly many better pizzas (we live in pizza mecca -coffee, pizza, beer mecca- you could have a new one every day and go years before having to repeat yourself) but that deliver? Fast? Cheap? And in your area? Not many in mine. So if you are a gourmet, get in your car and grab a table and watch your pie do its time in that open wood-burning oven. But if nothing in your fridge looks like food and you just want netflix and chill with a philly steak sandwich, hot wings, a pecan chicken salad and a gluten-free feta-olive-sausage on garlic sauce pizza... then Domino's is your...
Read moreI ordered a medium hand-tossed with pineapple and shredded provolone for my pizza and a pasta with marinara, cheese, garlic and tomatoes. I submitted my order at 9:21 PM and was about to play a short round of Mario Kart while I was waiting for my delivery. I start up my console, select my character and hit play when the doorbell rings, at 9:36 PM. 15 minutes to prep, bake, and deliver my order on a Saturday night is insane. Who has 15 minute delivery when everyone is short-staffed on a Saturday?
The pasta. You know how when you cook certain items at home it has that delicious crispy brown edge around the outside? The pasta had it. Not only was it perfectly cooked, the amount of toppings was generous. The garlic was fresh and strong. The cheese and tomatoes perfectly complimented the pasta. I could have closed my eyes and imagined I was tasting something from a fine italian resturant.
The pizza. Normally when I order from Dominios I get the handmade pan but this time I decided to go with the hand-tossed and I was surprised at the amount of seasoning on the crust. I could have eaten the crust all by itself and been satisified, it tasted that good. The proportion of cheese to pineapple was spot on and I ate several slices without that gut feeling of a lump of dough in my stomach.
The price. With prices going up everywhere I find solace in the establishments where I feel like my money is giving me the best value. Dominios always has the best prices with their coupons and I never feel like I've overspent and been unwhelmed.
Overall. The Dominios in Oregon City goes above and beyond. I've eaten from all of the local pizza shops and our Dominios is consistantly among the best but tonight was on a whole new level. It was so good I felt the need to write this thorough review and give them a well deserved...
Read more1st time ordering from here since moving to Oregon city and it was the worse dominos experience I’ve ever had. We ordered for pick up and Didn’t get my four sauces I paid for, one of the pizzas wasn’t even cooked all the way. I think they used cheap cheese product because after putting it in my oven for 10 mins the cheese still didn’t melt. And both orders of my chicken mango habanero pineapple didn’t even have the mango sauce on them. Very dry and gross. We all got sick after eating it last night. We spent over $50 on our order and was VERY displeased. The only good thing about this location was that the actual store lobby looked nice.
Update: I wrote the original reviews years ago and since then I have had good experiences with this location so it’s only right to correct this. I do curb side pick up because when you go in it’s pretty chaotic. But with that being said my food is out within a few mins and the employees are friendly. The food is better now, maybe the 1st time I went it was a bad day. We all have them. For the price it’s worth it if you are feeding your pack of hangry...
