This Panera location has absolutely horrible management and does not take into full consideration the COVID-19 pandemic. Why bother offer bringing food to people's car if you can't do it efficiently?
We ordered from the app. Once we placed our order, it said on the confirmation that it would be ready in 10 minutes. So we actually ended up getting there LATE because their turnaround time was so quick. We got there almost 20 minutes later.
On the email you can click "I'm here" and based on the vehicle information you give them they will bring it out to your car for you. Every other place that I've done this I get there's a little bit of a wait because they are helping other customers. When I've gone to retail shops or other restaurants for to-go and they bring it out to your car, I've usually waited a max of 10 minutes.
People were walking in, placing orders, and leaving quicker than we received our food. We were waiting in our car for over 20 minutes. I can see they had a crew of at least 2-3 guys wearing bright orange jackets. They were the ones bringing the food out to customers. So they had a crew DEDICATED to just bringing food out, and we waited for 20 minutes??? It wasn't even busy! I've seen Panera during lunch time and how crazy it can be, this was nowhere near that. I can't even imagine how they handle lunch time when they can barely serve less than 20 customers in the store and waiting for pick up.
So my husband finally got out of the car and walked in. I could not walk in myself because I didn't bring my mask (I figured the food would be brought out without issue). He said the bag was sitting on a shelf. He waited in line for a couple minutes to be helped and the lady at the register just handed it to him. Really??? It was sitting there the whole time? Why was it not brought out to us if it was ready???
When he brought it to the car, we were missing an item. We both order you pick two's and there were two sandwiches but only one soup. My husband walked in again and waited for another 5 minutes. The person working actually went into ARGUING with my husband insisting the order was correct because "it was signed off". Doesn't matter, if there's an issue, you correct it. It's takes a lot less effort that way!
The fact that this person was arguing with someone who not only had missing items in their order but also had to come in and pick up an order that was supposed to be brought to our car is astonishing.
I would suggest to just NOT go to this Panera location. Obviously they had a change in management or something. But whoever is managing this location, or was managing the store the day we were there is doing a horrendous job. I will be driving the extra length to go to the one in Tinley.
Should I also mention that prior to writing this review I already reached out to Panera in an email and did not receive a response? Yeah, good job on your end! This is a corporate owned business and they don't even have the staff to reply to incoming customer service inquiries. Or they just truly don't care about...

Read morefood is good. it's Panera. Note to MANAGEMENT: absolutely HORRIBLE service. this place needs a CLEAN SWEEP of employees or a re-training in professionalism. Negligent manager or shift leader on 6/27 around 3 p.m. and childish environment. These employees act as if it was a playground of fun and games, not work.
I won't name names. let me start: I walk up to start my order, friendly and polite. cashier girl says " no." with a straight face, then starts laughing saying "just kidding".
so rude and Insulting. but okay, she's just a kid, I let it slide.
While taking my order, she Interrupts and stops paying attention to me THREE times to interject with her shift leaders (or manager? can't even tell with her negligence and poor customer awareness ) social conversation and they make comments back and forth.
I get the cool casual vibe, can you have the mind to finish taking my order before joke around time? seriously? plus it was SOOO busy. so inappropriate.
Waiting for my order, I notice the wrong soup is on the receipt, I go to the counter to tell someone. another immature negligent, rude, kid.
he realizes my TO GO order is already plated on the counter, thank you cashier girl! I only said to-go 5 times!!!
doesn't apologize, not his fault, but tells ME it's alright, as if I'm the in the wrong??
same negligent shift manager walks over, acknowledges the mess up to HIM, not me, they JOKE round about it. then she just walks away. not an apology or anything. just because I'm not screaming and shouting does not mean I am a happy customer.
they Re-box my food, yep andwiches are cold now.
oh, MISSING BAKERY ITEM I paid for. once again, thanks cashier girl! not going to drive 30 minutes back for a chocolate croissant.
Have lived in Orland for more than 15 years. Will NEVER come back. So insulted in how I was treated. kids jokiby around with my food and Insulting me to my face? there is many more Panera to visit.
