Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Orland Township

I would give it a negative star or more if they let me. We went through the drive through. Had to wait soo long I thought they forgot about us. Then to ey brought out food to the cars behind us first. When we finally got food, over 20 mins of waiting in our car, the food was wrong. I went back is where I was met with total chaos and angry customers. I was ignored until I was able to catch the eye of the girl originally from he drive up window. When she finally came over she said that she would take care of it. She had someone else bring over a bag of food which turned out not to be my order either. When I let him know that he began to argue with me. I pointed out that over half of the order wasn't even the things I ordered. He went to her again she argued put something else in the bag and I pointed out I didn't order that food. I could clearly hear them talking rudly about me. My friend finally came in as they finally took my order down and we were then told that it would be another 25 mins before we would get our food. At this point it had been over 40 mins already and we just wanted to get home. We asked for the manager, who it turned out was right there flipping burgers and ignoring all the angry customers. He wouldn't acknowledge us even when we insisted. He then said very rudly while waiving us off he'd be right there and then proceeded to walk away to the back. Didn't come back up for quite a few minutes. He tried arguing with us about the food we no longer had, since they took it all but hadn't given our money back. We said we wanted our money back and would just go elsewhere and instead of doing it right away he went to the back again saying he had to find our receipt again. I even told him exactly how much we paid and he still tried to short change us on our refund. I, for what seemed like the hundredth time, repeated what we had ordered. Finally we got our money back and still had no apology, no offer for compensation for the over hour of frustration.... but I am relieved we didn't eat there because as we waited we could see a filthy kitchen with fries, grease and burger parts on the floor. Burgers put together, just sitting out on the counter getting cold and to top it all off the garbage can was directly under and next to the food being cooked. I will Never for back to that steak n shake.. it'll probably be a very long time before we ever go back to any of their restaurants. Soo...

This location needs to be closed. I was forced to give it the one pathetic star only because Google won't allow you to post without giving at least one star... So that one star will have to be for the only one waitress working here tonight. There were 7 employees working, including the manager on a Monday night after 9pm with zero customers when my family and I came in to dine. The waittess who sat us, also took our order, cooked our food, made our shakes and then checked us out at the register... All on her own. Yes, by herself while the other employees AND manager stood around, acting like fools and not helping her in the least bit. Not to mention two of them who sat at the counter and ate, while on the clock, and messed around with the cook (who also did nothing). One of the two girls who sat eating at the counter also had the audacity to talk s*#$ because i told our waitress that she must be the only one working there that night. The manager then came out of hiding only to leave the building and go to her car for 15 minutes, leaving her employees to themselves and her store vulnerable. The two that were eating at the counter also left with another male employee who only sat at the counter and goofed around. Another one of the employees kept fondling the one girl's hair who sat at the counter. Beside my family, there were two other couples seated in the store, whom were also frustrated with the extremely poor service. I've heard a lot of people complain about this location and have warned me never to go there, but I never expected it to be as bad as it was today. Whomever owns this location is in for a rude awakening if they want to stay in business. No business can survive with employees like those working there tonight (with the expectation of the one waitress that did everything herself...a word of advice to her- Leave now! You deserve way better than being taken advantage of like that). This location definitely proved to be true- a true nightmare....

Not only is this the worst Steak 'n Shake I've ever been too...this may be the worst restaurant I've ever been too....I can sense an attitude from the waitress as soon as I ask her for a table instead of a booth because we would be more comfortable at a table...we have to wait for her to clean the table which was cool but then she wipes off the the table but she doesn't dry it off so our arms as well as the menus are sticking to the damn table! Our feet were also sticking to the damn floor! Then we're ordering and I'm asking for extra meat in my chili, she said that they couldn't do that because the chili was made altogether!!!? Does that make any kind of sense? I then ask for GRILLED onions on my burger and she said that they are out if grilled onions but I can have onions!!!!!!!! If you have a grill and some onions, you should be able to get grilled onions!! I ordered an orange shake and they gave me a chocolate and vanilla shake instead!!! So after that, we're just done so we decide to take our food to go...of course we check our food and the triple cheeseburger with barbecue sauce and bacon has no barbecue sauce and bacon!! The lady ends up giving me 2 little pieces of bacon and then I look at the cook who has no gloves and no hair net doing what, grilling fu@king onions!!! You gotta be kidding me!! There was a lady that walked in had been waiting over an hour after waiting online!!!! This place is a absolute joke!!! There are good Steak n' Shakes out there but this ISN'T one of them...ENTER AT...
