(To the store rep/owner that responded below: The 4 star is for the pumpkin spice cupcake, to which I already had posted days before I bought the cheesecake cupcake. The 1 star is for the cheesecake cupcake only, which I had to update my rating because Google does not allow you to make more than one post for an individual business. I truly did not enjoy any of that cheesecake cupcake, as you said below. I had my back to the store glass. I ate the cupcake outside because I was on a bike and did not want to ride with it. And yes I ate it because I did pay for it (but in truth though, I really didn't want to eat it. I would have preferred to throw the rest away but was being respectful in front of the store). And unfortunately, the one star still stands for the cheesecake cupcake. This is constructive criticism to help better the product only. So i averaged out the total rating to a 2. My rating could be a good thing though. It could make people curious to go in and try it for themselves. And they might like the cheesecake cupcake. Best wishes) To anyone that is inquiring on what others have experienced with this bakery, feel free to read my honest review about the food only, which is not meant to hurt or offend the owner's feelings.:: I have to change this rating to be fair. I wanted to make a 1 star and a 4 star rating. But Google only allows 1 rating. The 1 star is for the cheesecake cupcake that I bought this January. It taste like any other factory treat, like it was frozen for a couple months then brought out to be sold. And it didn't taste as good as a factory made cupcake. The whip cream tasted like Cool Whip. Just not fresh, cheap tasting, and a weird after taste that Cool Whip has. I've made fresh yummy whip cream and this was not fresh made. And I was expecting an actual cupcake that had cheesecake mixed in it. It was all cheesecake and tasted old and chemically and cheap. I won't get that one again. The 4 star is for the below rating.:: I bought the pumpkin spice cupcake as a Christmas gift for my daughter. She loved it. Said it taste better than any cupcake, including the ones that the lady sells at lake Eola. So I went back when they reopened after the holiday this month (January). I bought the last three of the season. I don't think the man was being honest about when they were baked. I asked if they were baked the same day and he didn't give a straight answer. I ate one and the frosting was the best ever. But the cupcake didn't really taste like pumpkin. I will still be back to get more in the fall only due to the yummy frosting on this particular cupcake. I looked at the other cupcakes that he said had the same frosting and I could tell that they didn't. The color and consistency are completely different. Thanks â¤ď¸ (I asked my daughter why she liked the cupcake and she said it was because of the frosting and not...
Read moreVery beautiful bakery. The desserts looked delicious and everything smell delicious as well. However, customers service wasnât the best. We are out of town guest and looking for one of the best bakeries in Orlando. I picked this bakery 1st based on the high rating reviews and 2nd because it is a black own business. Me and my husband decided to support.
Atmosphere was not welcoming. It was very noticeable when white customers entered the bakery. The owner and her husband smiled, went out of her way to welcome them and wish them a great day. However, the owner (she) watched me and my husband like a hawk the entire time we were there without cracking a smile. Which was weird. I guess she thought we were going to rob them or something.
The customers in the store were so kind and pleasant compared to the owners and her husband. We were confused as we are paying customers also and showed them nothing but kindness while ordering from the bakery. Our experience and treatment was different than what other customers received at our time in the bakery. It was hard to ignore. I will not be returning. Funny thing is when we left the bakery and went to a vegan bakery 5 minutes way and received the best customer service. The person at the counter treated use with respect and was willing to answer any questions we had.
In the end my husband didnât enjoy his as cake as one layer of the German Cake was burnt. Other slices we are bringing back to Jacksonville, FL for my mother in law as a treat.
Word of advice to the owner and her husband. You never judge a book by its cover and treat every customer with the same great service regardless of color. We were truly disappointed and would never wanted to speak badly about small business or hurt them in any way but I could not ignore the service...
Read moreI couldn't wait to try this bakery! The name alone made me think "oh snap! This lady knows what she's doing!" I was finally able to try them two days ago, and what a disappointment! I tried a sampler of treats: cookies and 3 different cupcakes. Now I'm not saying that these treats were nasty, but my goodness they were the most unremarkable flavored baked goods I've had. The snickerdoodle cookies were priced $3.99 for four, and they tasted like someone forgot to add vanilla, a bit of lemon, and cinnamon - the very things that make a snickerdoodle! We also tried the chocolate cake/chocolate frosting cupcake & red velvet cupcake - these were FAINTLY chocolatey & the frosting was light & barely flavored...nothing that you'd expect from a buttercream. The vanilla cupcake with vanilla buttercream seemed to have been missing vanilla & the buttercream was so light & flavorless. The one thing they do have going for them is that their cake is moist - that is it. I was EXTREMELY disappointed to have dropped almost $15 in 4 treats only for them to taste worse than a Duncan Hines mix. Save your money & don't bother going here...you're better off getting better tasting treats from Fresh Market! Heck, even Publix cupcakes taste better and I can't stand...
