Sweetie's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Orlando

Sooo, I was excited to see this "staple" of the community (GOFF'S on OBT) re-opened and with my exhilaration, I neglected to notice the name change. I approached and ordered my usual(pineapple milkshake w/walnuts), and was immediately greeted with a smile as well as a welcome; and I asked, "How long have you been back open?" I received a reply of "three weeks," and the transaction continued. After I paid, and I inquired if anything changed...?, I was then informed, "We're not affiliated with Goff's, we're now Sweetie's, and we're the new owners." Though I was glad to see melanated skin, I was disappointed that they didn't inform me when I initially inquired about the changes. Not only would I have not ordered what I expected from GOFF'S, I would've asked, "What's your specialty?" My first review of the year MUST be for SWEETIE’S. Formally known as Goff’s, SWEETIE’S is the new home of decadent ice cream based desserts. Cups, cones, banana splits, milkshakes, and an abundance of toppings. The couple who owns and operates the spot is personable, friendly, and patient. They’ll accommodate almost any request that you can think of, if the ingredients are available. And to top things off the ice cream is soooo delicious. If you’re familiar with the iconic building which sits on OBT near Church St. then you’ll appreciate the cozy to-go atmosphere. This was my first time here, and won’t be my last. I was greeted with a smile from a friendly cashier. I needed that, as it was a long day. I ordered an XL swirl milk shake (vanilla & chocolate) w/Oreos as my topping. It was larger than life, and I enjoyed every sip/swallow. Also, I ordered a banana split (bananas, strawberries, whip topping, ice cream, caramel, chocolate…..OH MY!!!). I can honestly say it was the best I’ve ever had.
