I will not give you a bad rating because my intentions are not negative. This does need to be fixed though. Tonight your restaurant’s lot had a lot of towed cars. Most belonged to the other business, but some of them belonged to customers of your establishment and were illegally towed. One of the cars that belonged to one of your customers was all wheel drive. They dragged the car, possibly damaging the vehicle. This company you guys have a contract with also seems to have done other shady business out of the ordinary for towers. The company is All Auto Towing Inc. For all of us to get our cars back we had to get the police involved. The owner of al la carte also called the cops too. The manager at your restaurant said that they did not call the tow company and have a verbal agreement that al la carte customers should not have a problem parking in the lot. They also said that they don’t tow unless you guys call. They were scouting cars and quickly towing. This hurts al la cartes business and also your own since a handful of us were legally parked in the lot. I really hope you guys work with a new towing company. The driver was shouting homophobic and racist slurs to the crowd of 12 people of the cars they towed. The cops then had to mediate at their place to ensure that they would release our cars since the guy was saying he was refusing to release our cars and would charge us the higher price of double in the morning. There should be an incident report with the police on this. You guys should do something to make sure something like this, especially with this company, doesn’t happen again. Let me know if there is anyone I can speak to to make sure...
Read moreAll hype. I get the eccentric atmosphere they're going for, and the experience they want their customers to have; like the restaurant is a big local secret and waiting in line and ordering in code is part of the experience, only for the initiated... but it just doesn't pull it off. The process of ordering from a disney style line feels rushed and uncomfortable. If you want to be a fast food restaurant, organize your queues better, put your menu up where people can read it at the beginning of the line, and serve your food faster; if you want to be an enjoyable sit down restaurant, have proper servers and don't try to cram 100 people into what should be a 12 table location. Instead, its a 20 minute wait until you're presented with a disorganized menu, and an irritated cashier who doesn't understand why you aren't ready to order yet and are holding up the line. The food is taco-bell americanized tex-mex, only on big plates with an emphasis on selling beer. The sauce bar is filthy, and the servers are too busy trying to find the right customer under blaring music to every return to check on you or refill your drinks, let alone clean. Why have your beverage dispenser behind the counter if your servers aren't serving, just dropping off and leaving? I've been to 3 other locations, including 2 in Gainesville, and I'm told the franchise was modeled after Burrito Brothers, but while BBros was a legitimate local secret hole in the wall, Tijuana Flats (at least the 4 I've visited and especially the colonial location) is a sad parody without the quality or authenticity. I keep going with excited friends, but keep ending...
Read moreWe all know and love Tijuana Flats, but don't bother ordering Uber Eats from them, and especially this location.
My boyfriend and I ordered from here after a different location cancelled our order without saying anything, and left us an hour later with no food. But hey, new location, right? So we tried again, and they did the same thing: cancelled the order without saying anything about it (and we paid extra for 'peak times.')
So we called, and expectedly, they told us they were too busy. Ok. If you're too busy, you're too busy. We've all worked food service. We all understand being suddenly slammed or understaffed. EXCEPT they told us the app would be "available again in 10 minutes" so we could place our order again, and "since they took our name down," they would "get to us first."
We waited, and gave up. It wasn't available again for another half hour.
I'm not sure how different this is from a regular called in/ pick up order, but if you're too busy, just say it. Don't lie and leave us hanging.
Edit: we ended up placing the order online for pick up, and it went through fine. The manager said she didn't know it didn't update on our end when they put it OH, and offered to buy our next meal. Added a star for...
